The University of Toronto Department of Ob/Gyn has been partnered with Moi University School of Medicine and Moi Teaching and
Referral Hospital since 2007 through the larger AMPATH program/consortium, headed by Indiana University. Our department, along
with Indiana’s department of Ob/Gyn lead the reproductive health component of the collaboration. AMPATH has a tripartite mission of
clinical care, education and research. Areas of focus within the reproductive health component of the collaboration include reduction of
maternal morbidity and mortality and prevention and treatment of gynecologic malignancies.

How long have you worked with the on-site supervisor and briefly describe your working partnership:
Dr. Christoffersen-Deb has been on the ground as our field director for 4 years. We work together closely and are each other’s
counterparts in terms of trainee supervision. Drs. Songok and Chemwolo are Kenyan leads in the AMPATH primary healthcare
initiative, have worked with our program since the outset of our collaboration and have previously supervised trainees
