FUNCTIONAL JOB ANALYSIS (FJA) and PREWORK SCREEN (PWS) WorkWell FJA is a comprehensive method to identify and evaluate the physical demands of the work. FJA is the foundation for developing an effective work injury prevention and management process, providing objective information for Functional Job Descriptions(FJD) to match workers’ abilities to the job requirements.

FJDs are used d
to develop goal oriented rehab programs, determine safe return to work duties for injured workers, eliminate risks for injury, job match in FCE, and to develop PWSs. A PWS is a functional test used to determine if an individual’s physical abilities match the physical requirements of a specific job. PWS is the first step employers can take in preventing injuries, as it matches work and worker at time of hire.
