The vision will also be accomplished through lobbying the legislature on matters consistent with safety, delivery of service, and other issues relevant to advancing the cause of all aspects of the fire service within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. KENTUCKY FIRE SERVICE COALITION Kentucky Fire Service Leaders come together. Thursday, December 11th, was the first KY Fire Service Coalition meeting. In attendance were Chief Steve Kyle (President of KFA), Joe Baer (President of KPFF), Ronnie Day (Executive Director of Fire Commission), Mike Kurtsinger (Fire Commission), Eric Johnson (Executive Director of Supporting Heroes) and Michael Morgan (KAFC President). It was noted that this was the first time leadership from all these groups sat at one table. This first meeting was very productive and we are extremely encouraged by the commitment everyone expressed. We really believe it is important that this group of leaders open the lines of communication and move our state forward in 2015. We will keep everyone informed as this group continues to meet. Check them out!! As you read through our newsletter please take a moment and click on the company logos. They will send you directly to the website of that sponsors. Each of these companies contribute to the KY Chiefs and help us fulfill our mission. Not only are there computers at the Fire Station, just about everyone has one in their pocket. Often, official email and Fire Department resources are available to department members on their phones, whether or not the phone is a personal or department phone. The lines are becoming more grey each day on what is business and what is personal. The need for a Computer, Electronic Communications, and Internet Usage Policy has never been greater so that department members know what is and isn't permitted, and to strengthen the department's position if it is accused of mishandling information. If you have specific questions about any of the policies, please contact Curt Varone of LLRMI [email protected] for general questions, email Howard Rosewell, Property Specialist at KLCIS, or call him at 800-876-4552. MODEL POLICIES the companies. The KAFC is proud to partner with LKC and LLRMI to distribute and provide a link to the policies. We will be doing a policy of the month beginning next month.
