ALL INDIA WEATHER SUMMARY AND FORECAST BULLETIN Significant weather observations
♦ Dense/very dense fog observed at many places over Punjab, north Madhya Pradesh; at a few places over Uttar Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and at isolated places over Haryana & Delhi, Bihar and West Bengal & Sikkim. The visibility (50 m or less) has been recorded at 0830 hours IST of today: Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Hissar, Delhi, Bareilly, Gwalior, Datia, Jhansi, Banda, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Churk, Guwahati, Tezpur and Majbat.
♦ Cold day conditions are prevailing at many places over East Uttar Pradesh; at a few places over West Uttar Pradesh & Punjab and at isolated places over Haryana and Bihar.
Main Weather Observations
♦ Rainfall: (From 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST of today): Weather remained dry over the country.
♦ Maximum temperatures are below normal by 5­8°C at most places over Uttar Pradesh; at a few places over Punjab & Bihar and at isolated places over north Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal; by 2­4°C at a few places over rest Madhya Pradesh & Odisha and at isolated places over Vidarbha. They are above normal by 3­6 °C at many places over Himachal Pradesh; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, West Rajasthan & northeastern states. They are nearly normal over rest of the country. The lowest maximum temperature of 12.4°C has been recorded at Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) in the plains of the country.
♦ Kalpana 1: Cloud imagery of 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of north Jammu & Kashmir. Low/medium clouds are seen over the country outside West Rajasthan, Gujarat region, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Vidarbha and Odisha.
Meteorological Analysis (Based on 1730 hours IST) ♦ The Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over Afghanistan & adjoining Pakistan extending upto mid­tropospheric levels with a trough aloft roughly along Longitude 58.0°E and north of Latitude 20.0°N persists.
♦ The induced low pressure area lover south Pakistan & adjoining Kutch along with associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
♦ The trough of low at mean sea level lover Malay peninsula and neighbourhood persists.
♦ The fresh easterly wave would affect south peninsular India from 22nd onwards.

♦ Minimum temperatures would rise by 2­3°C and maximum temperatures would fall by 2­4°C over plains of northwest and central India during next 3 days.

♦ Cold day conditions would occur at a few places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, north Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
♦ Heavy snowfall would occur at a few places with very heavy falls at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir; isolated heavy to very heavy over Himachal Pradesh and isolated heavy over Uttarakhand.
♦ Hailstorm would occur at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana & Delhi, East Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and West Madhya Pradesh

♦ Rain/snowfall would occur at many places over western Himalayan region on 23rd & 24th and decrease thereafter.
