In the second quarter of 2014, the annual inflation rate amounts to -0.4% in the Euro zone, to 1.7% in the European Union and to -0.9% in Belgium. The house price index is a weighted average of the two sub-indices for new dwellings and existing dwellings. The results of 2013 were revised following a methodological change for the compilation of the index for new dwellings. From now on, this index is based on data from the Land Registry of the Federal Public Service Finances as for the index of existing dwellings. Before 2013, this index is approximated by the producer price index for the construction sector.
