Everyone had the option to wear either a spotted item of clothing or a onesie and donated £1 for this privilege. Ms Makoni and a few of her Year 9 students, also took time out to bake Pudsey biscuits and cupcakes and sold them for 50p each at break time. Pudsey himself also made a guest appearance at OSCA and undertook the Pudsey run challenge. With the aid of three Year 10 helpers, Pudsey made it around every tutor group and finished in Da Vinci’s assembly, collecting everyone's donations. Altogether OSCA managed to raise £586.00 for the Children in Need charity. This year OSCA ran a Christmas card design competition across all the year groups with two categories, artwork and a Christmas verse. There were lots of excellent entries and the judges had a difficult time in choosing the winners, but after much deliberating the two lucky students were Cyrene Evans in Year 11 (Artwork) and Anita Sandhu in Year 7, with the following Christmas verse; May your holidays be happy days, filled with love and laughter. And may each day bring joy your way, in the year that follows after! Merry Christmas. The cards are on sale at the Academy and all profits from the sale will go to Russells Hall Hospital, children’s ward. Student attendance, punctuality and behaviour are excellent at OSCA. As a reward for these achievements, an afternoon trip to Telford Ice Rink was organised. Over 500 students were eligible this year, even though the bar was raised to 98% attendance, with excellent punctuality and behaviour records. On Friday 12th December the students accompanied by staff, took to the ice. There were demonstrations of excellent skating skills by students and staff, but they all took time to look after anyone that needed a little help. This was a very enjoyable afternoon and the students were a credit to themselves and the Academy.
