Have you told someone about
Mount Merici Academy?
Hearing from a trusted friend
and fellow parent is the #1
reason new families visit our
school. It’s as easy as telling a
friend why Mount Merici was
the best choice for your children.
Please invite a new family to
join you at the Italian Dinner
this year or to visit with you
during Friday morning
assembly. We need your help!
If you would like to be more
involved in our enrollment
efforts, consider joining the
Enrollment Committee. Contact
Wendy Martin, our
Development Director, at
[email protected] or
873-3773 if you would like to
join!

Cell Phone/Electronic Device
Usage
We ask that all students turn
their cell phones and electronic
devices into their teacher upon
entering school. The office
phone is available for students
when needed. Devices are not to
be used during the school day
and may not be turned on until
students leave the building
unless given specific permission
from a faculty member or staff
person. This includes SMART
phones, IPads, IPods, Tablets,
etc. Thank you for helping us
monitor electronic usage!

Mrs. Duguay was visiting in 5th
grade when students were
working at stations and one
station had in their Scholastic
News the debate about cell
phones in school. Mrs. Duguay
had a good discussion with
Owen, Caden, Sarah and Olivia
about whether cell phones
should be allowed in schools.
There was no right or wrong
answer, just a good discussion
on the pros and cons!

Big & Little Buddy
Happenings!
Always a favorite time of the
week: when our 6th graders get
together with their Little
Buddies in Kindergarten. This
program has been going on for
over 15 years! A 6th grader is
matched up with a
Kindergartener(s) at the
beginning of the school year and
they get together weekly. This
last week they got to play
parachute games in the gym and
make snow clouds outside. This
is a bond that lasts throughout
the years and when the Big
Buddies are Seniors in High
School, their Little Buddies have
become Big Buddies in 6th grade
with their own Little Buddy.
The Seniors are invited back at
the end of the school year to
visit with their Little Buddy and
pictures are taken where there’s
a Senior, their Little Buddy 6th
Grader and their Little Buddy
Kindergartener in the picture!
