Joint 18th IHPC and 12th IHPS - IHPC-IHPS

Joint 18th IHPC and 12th IHPS
Welcome to the Joint 18th IHPC and the 12th IHPS!
It is my great pleasure to announce that the 18th International Heat Pipe Conference and the 12th
International Heat Pipe Symposium (Joint 18th IHPC and 12th IHPS) will be held as the first-time
joint event in Jeju, Korea during June 12 to 16, 2016.
Following up its successful organization of the IHPC and the IHPS series, this joint conference
focuses on topics related to heat pipe and thermosyphon developments, and provides a forum for
exchange of up-to-date information and experiences among scientists and engineers from around
the world. The Conference will be the most valuable opportunity for all participants from industry
and academia to share their professional knowledge and to promote friendship with experts.
Welcome to Jeju for this unique and historic gathering in the midst of enchanting environment of
the World Natural Heritage.

Conference Tour
The Local Organizing Committee will provide every participant with a half-day tour around the most
typical spots to enjoy the nature of Jeju island.
About Jeju Island
Jeju is proud of its unique cultural folk heritage as well as its geographical and historical relevance.
The island itself is an extinct volcano with its peak jutting skyward at the center and a broad, gentle
littoral all the way around, a very unique geographical condition. Sparkling seas and tiny islets
surround Jeju, with jutting rocks set amidst sandy beaches to create a magnificent view virtually
everywhere you look.
The value of Jeju was proved as the island received as the island was designated Biosphere Reserve
in 2002, World Natural Heritage in 2007 and Global Geopark in 2010, making the sub-tropical island
only place on Earth to receive all three UNESCO designations in natural sciences. Jeju Island is not
only Korea's most prestigious destination and top honeymoon location but it has been the
for several political joint summit talks and other major international Meetings
