ALL-STAR ANGLERS IN “FISH SCHOOL”
Put a group of top fishing pros together and you’ve got a unique learning opportunity. That’s
the make-up of the angling experts set to teach in the “Fish School” presented by Buckeye Sports
Center at this year’s Progressive Mid-America Boat Show, January 15-19.
“This is, by far, the most outstanding line-up of fishing tournament champions and money
winners we’ve ever had,” says show manager Ken Alvey. “From Walleye to bass fishing, ‘Fish
School’ has it covered, including the ‘Kid’s Fishing Clinic.’
Three special fishing events are slated for this year. First, a special Bass College is set for
Saturday (Jan. 17) from 11:00am to 2:00PM. It will feature veteran anglers Joe Balog, Bryan
Coates and Jared Rhode, bass tournament winners all.
Second, the popular Walleye College is back, this year conducted by champions Mark
Brumbaugh, Travis Hartman, Jim Stedke and Dan Gies. It’s also slated for Saturday (Jan. 17)
from 3:00PM to 6:00PM and it’s expected to be a full house again.
Finally, last year’s first-ever Future Angler Foundation’s “Kids Fishing Clinic” was so
successful, it will be held again on Sunday (Jan.18) at 1:00PM. The event is sponsored by
Buckeye Sports Center, Shakespeare, Crown Battery and the National Professional Anglers
Association.
The NPAA is made up of top fishing pros that compete on all levels and have a passion for
introducing kids to fishing. Conducting this year’s Kids Clinic will be: Travis Hartman, Randy
Ayre, Dan Gies and Matt Davis. These pros will include games and prizes to help keep the kids
engaged, and their goal is to create excitement for fishing in the youngsters.
