Tariff update
Safeguarding
In response to feedback from the consultation,
the Licensing Committee, at its meeting on 8
December 2014 agreed to leave the existing
zones as they are and to do a public consultation
to bring in one tariff for all zones. The tariff
proposal that will be consulted on will be tariff
proposal No.3.
Following publication of the notice in the first
week of January, 14 days will be allowed for
objections, taking this into consideration the
envisaged implementation date for the new table
of fares is 9th March 2015. The Council will be
able to review the table of fares in the future and
will work with the taxi trade to monitor the impact.
Compliance Team Leader
Gemma Sadd is now the Fleet Compliance Team
Leader. Gemma has worked for the council for
over 4 years and previously worked as a
Development Officer in Fleet. Gemma is looking
forward to working with you all.
Wiltshire Council has reviewed and amended the
Taxi Licensing Guidelines to raise awareness of
Safeguarding and Child Sexual Exploitation.
The council takes safeguarding very seriously. As
a result, we are in the process of developing a
training package for all drivers, raising awareness
to safeguarding children and adults.
This training will help drivers identify signs of
possible exploitation and raise awareness of what
to do.
Taxi Ranks
We are currently identifying taxi ranks that need
repainting. Please contact us via e-mail, if there
are ranks you know of that need to be repainted.
If members of the trade have any ideas where
additional ranks could be provided then we would
be happy to look at the locations and see if any
spaces could be provided.
Contact Details - email
