Kossuth County EMS Association along with Iowa Lakes Community College
will be sponsoring continuing education for emergency service professional.
Who: EMRs, EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics and Emergency Nurses
When: Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 registration 0730, class starts at 0800, done at 1600
Where: Whittemore Fire Station, 405 Railroad Street, Whittemore, IA.
Cost: $65, Course #:57678, IBON # 09, EMS # 03, 0.84 CEUs, 8.4 CEHs
Purpose: For hospital & Pre-hospital personal to refresh, review and obtain new researched
based knowledge in care of the emergent patient.
Objective: Discuss Iowa's shock protocol procedures. Review & describe research that may
lead to changes in the future for c-spine & backboard immobilization. Describe procedures
when presented with hemorrhage control issues. Review & discuss ag related emergencies,
treatments and extrication methods. Identify treatments when responding to a possible fourwheel accident. Describe different treatment and extrication methods when responding to a
grain entrapment emergency.
Lunch & break food included in the tuition. Lunch again
this year will be your choice of soup & sandwich.
