PLCUTY1E Abstract Basic Application Programming with Unity Pro Course Abstract: Prerequisites This is an Instructor led course designed for Industrial Automation and Control Systems Engineering and Technical personnel, who require familiarity with the features of Unity Pro, allowing them to work with Unity Pro capable Schneider Electric Controllers in a variety of industrial control applications. In order to be successful in this course the learner must meet the following prerequisites: − − − Familiarity with the Windows Interface An understanding of Industrial processes requiring automation would be helpful. Previous instruction in Automation (PLC) systems and programming at any level would also be beneficial. This course will cover tasks common to all systems that run under Unity Pro. During the course, the student will be exposed to the IEC programming languages Function Block diagram, Ladder diagram, and Structured Text. In addition, the student will be instructed in the basic principles of operation of a Schneider electric Automation Controller Using IEC type configuration and programming. Audience: Industrial systems engineers, Technical Support Specialists, Industrial control Maintenance Technicians or System Programmers that need to use Unity Pro to design, modify, or Troubleshoot systems, industrial processes, and applications. Objectives: After completion of this course the learner will be able to: − − − − − − Use Unity Pro software to configure a Schneider Electric Quantum, Premium, M340 or Atrium PLC and associated I/O. Program, at the basic level, a Schneider Electric Quantum, Premium, M340 or Atrium PLC to control an application using the IEC programming editors FBD, LD, or ST as found in Unity Pro Software. Implement Derived Functions blocks at the basic level. Demonstrate an understanding of derived data types and their uses in a Unity Pro program. Create, Save, Download, Upload, Test, Monitor, Search, and Debug an IEC PLC Application using Unity Pro Software. Document and Print a Unity Pro PLC application using Unity Pro software PLCUTY1E Abstract Basic Application Programming with Unity Pro Topical Outline: Course Agenda: This course consists of the following lessons: Day 1: − Introduction − Unity Product Overview − Design Considerations − The Run-Time Operating System − Theory of Operation under Unity − Setting Options and Preferences − Unity System Configuration − Data objects and Datatypes − − − − − − − − − − − − − − − − Unity Product Overview Design Considerations The Hardware Run-Time Operating System Setting Unity Options and Preferences Theory of Operation under Unity Unity System Configuration Memory, Addresses, Variables and Datatypes Unity System Functions Implementation of Unity Function Blocks Basic Discrete Control Circuits in Unity IEC Basic Derived Function Blocks in Unity IEC Basic Mathematical Operations in Unity IEC System Diagnostics Using Unity Export, Import And Archival Functions in Unity Securing the Unity System Document and Print Course Length: 3 Days Course Code: PLCUTY1E Course Tuition: $1800.00 Maximum Class Size: 12 Students Day 2: − Unity System Functions − Implementation of Function Blocks − Basic Discrete Control Circuits − Basic Derived Function Blocks − Basic Mathematical Operations Day 3: − System Diagnostics Using Unity − Export, Import & Archiving − Securing the System − Document and Print − Evaluations
