January, 2015
The Holiday’s are a special time of year, when we are reminded to give thanks and recognize the
importance of friends, family, and celebrating life. Across the Greystone Health Network, our
communities celebrated the holiday’s with festive fervor, getting into the spirit with ugly sweater
contests, BELIEVE trees, and more!
The Club Health & Rehabilitation Center was part of The Villages
annual holiday parade this year, representing Greystone with a
“Grandma got run over by a reindeer” theme, as well as holding an
ugly sweater content for their associates. The winners of their sweater
contest, and their float, are pictured below. The rest of our
communities got in the spirit as well, with the BELIEVE tree at Viera
Health & Rehab and some holiday decorations at Unity Health &
Rehab (bottom right and top right, respectively).

With the New Year, some new changes have taken
place here at Park Meadows. I am pleased to
introduce myself and thank everyone for the warm
welcome I received as the new Administrator.
Here’s a little bit of background on me; I graduated
from Eastside High School right here in Gainesville
and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Long-Term
Care Administration from Bellevue University in
Nebraska. I have lived in the Gainesville/Melrose area for the last 35 years and
feel close to the community as a result. Be on the lookout for my beautiful,
loving wife and three beautiful children, they will stop by occasionally to visit
our facility! I have 13 years experience in long-term care starting as the Dietary
Manager in a rural facility . I accepted my first position as an Administrator 5
years ago in the Orange Park area. And on a personal note- I am a staunch FSU
fan!
It is easy to see the impact that Brian had on the facility during his tenure as
Administrator here. With that said, I hope to continue in his footsteps to help
bring the highest level of quality care and respect that I can. I look forward to
meeting everyone personally and building lasting relationships within our
community.
We still have a lot of renovations going on inside and outside of the building
and I thank everyone for their patience in the process, as I know it can be a bit
frustrating at times. The projects are really coming together and it is only with
your help and support that we are accomplishing them.
Thank you for welcoming me into your hearts and home. I look forward to
making many great memories with all of you!
Sincerely,
Aaron Coppola

Resident that WOWs
Birthdays
Alexander Jandrucko is our resident that
WOWs for this month. Alex is a very
friendly guy with beautiful blue eyes! He
was born in New York and moved to
Florida in 1950. Truck driving was his
vocation for 40 years and yet he also
built his own house! He has been married for 28 years and has 3
children living in Texas and 2 in Tennessee. A veteran of the
Navy, he enjoys watching sports on television and gardening. He
has been a wonderful addition to our facility and has a smile for
all who greet him. We are so proud to include Alex as a member
of our Park Meadows family!

Rehab Superstar
This month our superstar in rehab is Johnnie Smith. Johnnie has
lived in Gainesville all of his life. He graduated from Lincoln High
School and worked in a lab at the University of Florida. In fact, he
worked in the lab with Dr. Cade on the Gatorade project! He has one
son that lives in New York. He loves working outdoors on small jobs
and has a “heart as big as Texas”!
Our

He is also an inspiration in the therapy gym-for staff and residents
alike. He has made great progress during his stay at Park Meadows.
We are happy to have Johnnie as a member of our Park Meadows

Council’s Corner
December was a very busy and fun-filled month at Park Meadows!
Now that the holidays are over, we are ready for new beginnings.
The Resident Council will be taking nominations and voting on
officers at our February meeting. We encourage any and all
residents to attend and participate in our meetings and activities.
The Welcome Wagon committee still could use some more hands.
One of our missions is to welcome and assist new residents and help
them feel at home at Park Meadows.
The council is working on a few projects lately to enhance the
quality of life for everyone. Please join us on January 13th in the
main dining room at 10:00 AM. We welcome all ideas and all
residents.
Here’s wishing you and yours a very happy new year!
With love and prayers,
Danette Hartsock-RC Vice-President
Dear Family and Friends
Please remember to mark all new clothing with resident name
and add it to the inventory list in the chart. Also-all electrical
items must be approved by maintenance before installing into
resident rooms.
Thank you for your assistance!
