30 30th Anniversary Caribbean Cruise February 8 - 15, 2015 | Regal Princess Your Cruise Vacation Guide Welcome to RSVP’s 30th Anniversary Caribbean Cruise! In 1985, Kevin J. Mossier had a bold, new idea – to provide a safe, tailormade vacation for gays and lesbians. In that moment, the gay cruise concept was born with our first cruise for 750 guests out of New Orleans in 1986. Three decades later, we’re thrilled to welcome 3600 guests to the brand new Regal Princess. There are so many things we’d like to say to our loyal and first-time guests, but most of that can be wrapped up in two simple words: “thank you.” Thank you for thirty years of laughter, adventure, silliness, friendships, and fun. Let the good times roll! Regal Princess is the biggest and boldest ship RSVP has ever sailed, and we know you’ll love her and her attentive staff. With round-the-clock activities, parties, and entertainment, there’s simply no better place for us to celebrate our 30th Anniversary than on the newest ship in the Caribbean! Team RSVP has spent months planning your vacation and we know you’re excited to discover all that awaits you. So sit down, grab your favorite drink, and read on! This guide outlines everything you need to know before you cruise and what you can expect onboard, including RSVP signature entertainment and parties. And of course…there’ll be plenty of surprises along the way! Whether you’re a first-timer or you’ve traveled with us many times before, you’ll quickly discover that RSVP is exactly where you belong. We can’t wait to welcome you aboard and meet you in person! Enjoy, Randle, Rachel, Nick, Dann, John, Abel, Brad, & Team RSVP 1 Table Of Contents Essentials – Things To Know and Do First! Register Online with Princess Check In and Boarding Time Guest check-in begins at approximately 12:00pm on February 8, although boarding may take place shortly after that. Please note that staterooms will not be available until 1:00pm. To expedite embarkation, you’ll want to complete your online check-in with Princess Cruises by February 5. It takes about 10 minutes from start to finish. Simply visit https:// book.princess.com/cruisepersonalizer/index.page?company=PC and follow the outlined instructions. If you are staying in Ft. Lauderdale before the cruise, we ask that you arrive after 1:30pm so that our guests flying in on Sunday may check in without waiting. You won’t miss anything except standing in line and there is limited seating in the terminal. You’ll need your Princess Booking Number, your passport, and a credit card to complete online check-in. Once you fill in all the required details, be sure to print your Boarding Pass. Regal Princess sets sail for the Bahamas at 4:00pm sharp! All aboard is 3:00pm, and any guests arriving after that time will be denied boarding. If you need Online Check-In Assistance, please contact Princess at 800.774.6237. Documents Required Please note that if you are unable to complete online check-in, you will be able to complete manual forms at the pier. It might take a bit longer to get through security, but we’ll be able to get you onboard with only minor delays. • Your printed Boarding Pass. If you do not have this as a printed document, you will be required to complete all of the compulsory information again at the pier • Proof-of-citizenship credentials (driver license and official birth certificate) or Passport • A credit card or cash for onboard charges Onboard Services After completing your online check-in, you’ll be able to book the following services: • Lotus Spa Services • Shore Excursions • Airport Transfers (if needed) You’ll need the following to complete check-in: Contacts Before Sailing You’ll find information about Shore Excursions and the Lotus Spa in our “Details” section. If you have any questions about your cruise, you can reach RSVP Vacations at 310.432.2300, Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm Central Standard Time. February 8, 2015 Getting to the Pier February 15, 2015 Arrival into Fort Lauderdale Regal Princess will be docked at Port Everglades, conveniently located about 10 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale airport (FLL) and about 15 minutes from the center of Ft. Lauderdale. There is only one port facility in Ft. Lauderdale. The address is: Port Everglades, Terminal 2 1801 SE 20th Street Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316 For those of you flying into FLL, we recommend simply taking a taxi from the airport to the ship. However, organized group transfers from MIA or FLL airports to the pier on February 8 and from the ship to MIA or FLL on February 15 may be purchased from Princess’s online Flights & Transfers page. You may also purchase return transfers onboard from the shore excursions desk. Transfers to/from FLL to the pier cost $19.00 USD each. To/from MIA to the pier, $24.00 USD each. The transfer costs will be charged to your onboard account. Taxi fare from Ft. Lauderdale Airport is approximately $20-$25, and from Miami Airport, $70-$80. Upon arriving into Fort Lauderdale on February 15, we will begin disembarkation around 7:00am. Disembarkation generally takes around three to four hours and all guests will be off the ship by 11:00am at the latest. You will receive a questionnaire in your stateroom early in the week asking for your post-cruise arrangements. Please complete this form and return it to the ship’s Passenger Services Desk on Deck 5 or simply hand it to your stateroom steward as soon as possible so they can arrange the disembarkation time that best suits your postcruise needs. On February 14, you will receive a disembarkation information sheet and the appropriately-colored luggage tags (based on the answers given on the disembarkation questionnaire) in your stateroom mailbox. Airport to Ship Transfers If you purchased an airport transfer from the Shore Excursion Desk, the appropriate luggage tags and instructions will be delivered to your stateroom. If you have not received the information by the evening of February 14, please contact Passenger Services immediately. Contacting the Ship After You Disembark For lost or forgotten items, email [email protected]. For onboard billing questions after the cruise, please call 1.800.PRINCESS. Parking is also available at the pier. 3 4 Important Information Customs & Immigration Customs and immigration officials will board the ship and clear it in each port before we are allowed to go ashore. Normally, this occurs without your knowledge or participation. Occasionally, passengers are called for inspection for a variety of reasons. In these cases, please follow the instructions provided to ensure we are able to disembark in a timely manner. While we shouldn’t have to say this, please don’t even think of bringing any type of illegal substance, hazardous material, or other items that are banned by customs or ship security. Remember that both Princess and RSVP have a zero-tolerance policy towards all illegal substances and behavior that violates the above policy. Any violation could result in your vacation being terminated early, or worse. If a guest is found in possession of an illegal substance, appropriate action will be taken, which may include removal from the ship and the involvement of appropriate authorities, which may result in prosecution. Guests removed from the ship pursuant to this policy are responsible for their own accommodations and transportation home (at their expense) and no refund will be offered for the unused portion of their cruise. No Solicitation Policy Smoking Policy Cigarette smoking is limited to the areas clearly marked “Dedicated Smoking Areas.” This includes Churchill’s Cigar Lounge (Deck 6 Forward), a small section of the casino on the Starboard side, Promenade Deck 7 Starboard Aft, and the Starboard side of the Terrace Pool. Smoking is prohibited in staterooms, on balconies, and in corridors, elevators, stairways, public bathrooms, and all common areas except as listed here. The use of electronic cigarettes is allowed within the confines of your stateroom (but not on your balcony) and within the Designated Smoking Areas. Personal Funds & Shipboard Charges One of the best things about cruising is the convenience of being able to sign for all your expenses and have them charged to your stateroom. Princess’s cashless system is designed to make your life onboard as easy as possible. Your account is activated at the pier by presenting Princess with a major credit card. An itemized statement outlining all your onboard charges will be delivered to your stateroom prior to disembarkation. By providing your credit card details in advance, you are automatically registered for Express Check-Out and there is no need to visit Passenger Services to settle your account. Please note that all charges made to your credit card will be made in U.S. dollars. If you do not wish to register a credit or debit card and would prefer to open a cash account instead, please see Passenger Services on Deck 5 to submit a deposit. We do not allow guests to advertise, market, or offer any other type of commercial or nonprofit solicitations onboard. We want the environment onboard to be free of advertising and other clutter. Any guest violating this policy will be fined a minimum of $3,000 on their shipboard account. Beverage Restrictions As provided in the Princess Passage Contract, passengers agree not to bring alcoholic beverages of any kind onboard for consumption, except one bottle of wine or champagne per adult per voyage, which will not be subject to a corkage fee if consumed in the stateroom. Additional wine/champagne bottles are welcome, but will incur a $15 corkage fee each, no matter where they are intended to be consumed. Liquor, spirits, and beers are not permitted. Also, for charter events, cases of soda/bottled water are prohibited. As luggage is loaded onto the ship, it will be scanned and items outside of Princess’s policy will be removed and discarded. Alcoholic beverages purchased duty free from the ship’s gift shop or in port will be collected for safekeeping and delivered to the your stateroom on February 14. Door Decorations Part of the fun of any RSVP vacation is decorating your stateroom door. When decorating your door, decorations should not obstruct doorways, hallways, or create an electrical or fire hazard. Also, please refrain from using offensive images or nudity on door decorations. Please respect ship property and do not damage door surfaces. It is your responsibility to clean up your decorations at the end of the cruise. The costs associated with any damage to your door will be charged to your onboard account. 5 6 Basics - The Keys to a Great Vacation Itinerary Date Port Arrival Day 1 Sunday, February 8 Fort Lauderdale, Florida Day 2 Monday, February 9 Princess Cays, Bahamas Day 3 Tuesday, February 10 At Sea Day 4 Wednesday, February 11 Cozumel, Mexico Day 5 Thursday, February 12 At Sea Day 6 Friday, February 13 George Town, Grand Cayman Day 7 Saturday, February 14 At Sea Day 8 Sunday, February 15 Fort Lauderdale, Florida Departure Party Themes and Costumes 9am 5pm 10am 7pm Our theme parties might warrant something special, but these, of course, are always optional. RSVP Fun Fact For those unfamiliar with the history of T-Dances, here’s a perfect primer to get you up-tospeed: T-Dance History. Team RSVP Team RSVP consists of our full-time employees and part-time talent working together to create an exciting cruise experience for you. You’ll see us morning, noon, and night. We’ll be on-hand throughout the ship to host and assist with every aspect of your vacation. Do not hesitate to ask any of us if you have a question or require assistance. Simply look for us in our RSVP name badges. We’ll also host a Hospitality Desk on Deck 5 at Passenger Services. Our desk is open daily and is your central resource for RSVP-related information. Hours vary day to day and are posted in the daily Princess Patter and at the desk itself. Also…and we’ll say this as clearly as we can because it’s always an issue for some…we as a community tend to be more connected than typical guests. That puts unusual demands on the limited bandwidth onboard. We recommend trying to unplug a bit – after all, you’re on vacation (and it’s expensive!). If you’re unable to connect satisfactorily on the ship, you should be able to connect wirelessly at cafes, restaurants, and coffee shops around Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Mobile Phone Access You can take advantage of your wireless devices while at sea. With Princess’s onboard service, you can make and receive calls using your own mobile phone and telephone number. A service plan capable of roaming internationally with Maritime Communications Partners AS is required. Charges will appear as a “roaming charge” on your regular monthly bill. Rates are very high and are set by each home carrier. We recommend checking rates prior to traveling. Other restrictions and limitations may apply. Princess@Sea App There’s a great new technical feature onboard that we know you’ll love and hopefully use. Princess Cruises offers a complimentary app that allows you to connect with other cruisers via their intranet system. To sign up once onboard, simply connect your mobile device to the WiFi server called “Regal Princess” and use your browser to go to regal.princess.com. You’ll be immediately connected. Once connected, simply register by choosing a User Name and Password. You’ll be prompted to enter a verification code, which can be found on the back of your cruise card at the top; look for the number following the asterisk. 13 14 Once registered, you can add your friends to “My Contacts” by inputting their folio number. Folio numbers can be found on the front side of the cruise card. Once you enter your friends’ folio numbers, they’ll show up on your My Contacts list. However, until they actually sign up for the free service, they will show as “Not Registered” within the app. It’s easier than it sounds. Here are the sample screens: If you need assistance with the app, the Princess Passenger Services Team Members on Deck 5 are more than willing to lend a hand. Ladies of RSVP Retreat Regal Princess’s abundant space allows us to provide the Ladies of RSVP their own private retreat. Tucked away in a specially marked area on the port side of Deck 17 Aft (adjacent to Remix), you’ll find private loungers and an exclusive hot tub. Of course, you’re also welcome at all other pools and hot tubs, too, but this one has been carved out just for you! Medical Services Medical services are available on Regal Princess 24 hours a day. The Medical Center is located mid-ship on Deck 4 and opening hours will be listed daily in your Princess Patter. Charges for medical services will be added to your shipboard account and you will be provided with an itemized summary to submit to your insurance company. The ship’s Medical Center is primarily intended to provide acute care for illness and accidents that may occur while on vacation and is not intended to provide long-term care for patients with chronic illnesses. They are capable of treating minor matters, as well as assessing and stabilizing most medical emergencies. If you require treatment for a serious condition, arrangements may be made to transfer you to a medical facility ashore. If you are currently suffering from a serious medical condition, please consult with your personal physician prior to sailing. If you would like the medical staff to be aware of any special conditions or medications, please contact the Medical Center or Passenger Services on Deck 5 upon boarding. Be sure to pack any medications in your carry-on and in their original prescription containers to avoid delays with security. If you should come down with a contagious disease, or even suspect a contagious disease while onboard, it’s compulsory you report it to the ship’s Medical Center for the safety of everyone onboard. In rare instances, the medical staff may determine your medical condition requires you to be quarantined in your stateroom to protect the health of other guests. While both Princess and RSVP will make every effort to make you comfortable in such a situation, we are unable to compensate for lost vacation time due to quarantine. Important note: Regal Princess is registered in Bermuda. For U.S. citizens, please verify with your insurer that your coverage applies outside the United States. As always, we highly recommend travel insurance to assist with unforeseen costs and reimbursements for missing vacation time due to illness. As you build your network, you’ll be able to chat with friends old and new. Also through the app, you can access a summary of your onboard account and the daily Princess Patter. 15 HEALTH SCREENING ADVISORY: In light of recent news regarding the Ebola virus, Princess wishes to advise all guests that they’ve adopted new boarding procedures and screenings following collaboration with the international health authorities. They will be screening for any guests or crew who have visited or traveled through countries with a US CDC Level 3 Travel Warning (Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea) or had physical contact with or helped care for a person suspected of having Ebola within 21 days of our cruise departure date. These individuals will be denied boarding. Princess is also monitoring bookings for any guests coming from these countries. Princess Cruises has in place robust medical protocols that are consistent with public health 16 guidance. They are monitoring the situation closely, along with our colleagues in the rest of the travel industry. Guests seeking more information on Ebola can visit the World Health Organization’s website at www.who.int or the CDC website at www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/. Should you have any questions about these travel requirements, please call 800.774.6237 to speak with a Princess Guest Relations agent. You may submit any special medical-related requests or conditions by contacting RSVP Vacations at 310.432.2300 prior to January 23. Gratuities & Tipping All standard service charges for your stateroom attendants and dining room staff have been pre-paid with your RSVP reservation. Additional tipping for exceptional service is of course at your discretion. This standard gratuity does not cover purchases made onboard, and as such a 15% service charge is automatically added to bar charges, dining room wine purchases, and spa services. In terminals, airports, ports of call, and on shore excursions, we suggest you extend gratuities consistent with customary local practices. Frequently Asked Questions Question: Do I need to wear a costume at every party? Answer: Of course not! While we’d love to see you in costume, you’ll feel right at home in any outfit and are always invited to join in the fun. Question: Can I bring a friend onboard? Answer: No. Only registered cruise guests and crew have access to the ship; no visitors onboard the ship. This is for the safety and security of all guests. You can eat whenever and sit with whomever you’d like. However, in order to accommodate everyone smoothly and comfortably, there are a few guidelines. Regal Princess has three main dining rooms, which we will operate and open one at a time in the following sequence: Allegro, Concerto, then Symphony. Once Symphony fills to capacity, we’ll start over again with Allegro and Concerto. We’ll have signage and wait staff pointing the way to the currently open room, but please note that in order to offer open seating successfully, during the transition from one dining room to the next you may be asked to walk from one to the other – a small inconvenience to eat whenever and with whomever you choose. Team RSVP will be on-hand outside the Allegro, Concerto, and Symphony restaurants to greet you, help with seating, and answer questions. We always encourage you to join our other guests for meals; it’s the best way to meet people. Both RSVP and Princess will do our best to honor special seating requests, but please note that the majority of tables in the main restaurants seat 6 or 8 people, with a small number seating 10. For the majority of parties larger than 8, we cannot guarantee that everyone will be able to sit together, but we will do our best to find nearby tables. If you prefer a more traditional cruise experience with an assigned table and waiter for dinner, simply request that option from the Maitre D’ and they’ll do their best to accommodate you. Please be patient during peak hours of 8:00 to 8:30pm as there may be a slight wait in the main restaurants. If you’re the type of person who prefers not to wait or gets upset with queues (and you know who you are), for the sake of all that’s good in this world, please avoid this window of time entirely. Room Service Complimentary room service is available 24 hours a day. To have continental breakfast delivered to your stateroom, fill out the breakfast card included in your stateroom portfolio (one is also placed on your pillow) and hang it on the outside of your stateroom door prior to going to bed. Good to Know En Route Delays If you encounter unforeseen flight or weather-related delays on sailing day, we suggest you immediately advise an airline representative at the airport that you are a cruise passenger destined for sailing that day. Often, airlines are able to arrange alternative flights at the airline counter for passengers to continue with their travel to the point of embarkation. It is the airline’s responsibility to make alternate flight arrangements resulting from a delay or cancellation. In the event costs are incurred, you are responsible for out-of-pocket expenses. If you’ve purchased travel protection, costs incurred as a result of trip delays are likely covered by Trip Delay protection. Please ensure you keep all receipts for submission and contact your travel plan administrator for assistance and clarification. Upon learning your new flight arrangements, we ask that you immediately contact Princess with your new flight information. You may call Princess toll-free at 800.545.0008. This special number is operational only in the United States and Canada. Outside of the United States and Canada you may reach Princess at 661.284.4410. Within Australia, use 13.24.88. These calls will be routed to Princess’s customer service centers in Australia or the United Kingdom, subject to the time of call. Their representatives will record your new flight information into your booking record. If your checked baggage is delayed or misdirected by a common carrier, immediately report this to the carrier. Once you arrive onboard, report this delay to the Passenger Services Desk on Deck 5, providing the claim number and bag description. As a courtesy, the onboard staff will assist in following up with the airline; however, any costs incurred in forwarding the luggage to the ship is at the passenger’s expense. Passengers who have purchased travel protection should verify with their policy carrier regarding Baggage Protection, which may include baggage delay coverage.
