The PSPCA was organized in June 21st, 1867 and throughout the years they have dedicated themselves to improving the lives of Pennsylvania Animals through their core programming that includes, but is not limited too: humane law enforcement, humane education classes, adoption centers, and lastly low-cost wellness clinics. Like any non-profit organization they are heavily reliant on the support that they receive from their volunteers. Cheryl, as proud lover of animals (who has three cats Sandy, Tigger, and Baby; plus one Dachshund name Sparkles at home) decided to lend her support to their organization starting this past October 25th, 2014. Since starting her volunteer orientation at the PSPCA, Cheryl has contributed to the daily operations of the volunteer department in order to help ensure its efficient performance. As a volunteer Cheryl is responsible for providing shelter essentials: assembling litter boxes, making cat toys, and giving treats to the animals. And hopes to soon begin working as a “Feline Friend” that provides much need socialization to incoming cats at the PSPCA in order to increase their chances of adoption to a good home. If you are interested in learning about how you can contribute to the PSPCA volunteer program contact: Jennifer Johnson (volunteer manger at the PSPCA) at 267-463-2328 or by email at [email protected]. “I feel like I’m making a difference and I’m having a lot of fun working here and learning a lot too!” ~Cheryl Cole, PSPCA Volunteer and NCC Member NCC will be CLOSED on December 24th & 25th for the Winter Holiday.
