Last week we continued our 12 Days of
Christmas countdown. There were many
special treats and surprises every day to
make it all the more fun….from “melted
snowmen” aka bottled water to our PTA
showering us with a cookie platter for
each teacher to take home and share.
Restoration Church even catered a full
meal with turkey and ham and all the
fixings that accompany a delightful
holiday meal!
The LSE Singing Stars also graced us with a
beautiful Christmas concert for the entire
school. They were enchanting as they
sang many classic songs and new ones as
well. Our students were an amazing
audience too. It’s always fabulous being a
Bear, especially at Lone Star!

Our 3rd and 4th grade Rockin' Ranchers
choir "rocked" the stage last Thursday
night with a festive medley of
songs. They have learned so much about
music, singing, and most importantly,
coming together as a group to make a
harmonious sound. We are so proud of
our Rockin' Ranchers.
We had our first E-Track Showcase this
past Friday, and our 3rd and 4th grade
students did a great job showing parents
and the community the product they
created during their weekly E-Track
time. What a blessing it is to enrich our
students in an area they are passionate
about.

Our library is creating 'Rockin'
Readers! Each grade level has a reading
program, and so many students are
participating this year. Parents and
community can go to our school
website and watch the Animoto Mrs.
Williamson makes each week to
showcase readers and weekly awards.

Our Fall E-Tracks cycle ended
November14th. The showcase was held in
the library on Friday, December 12th. The
library which is normally a quiet place
came to life. There was so much
excitement and energy in the room. We
had 12 different groups representing
second, third and fourth grade. Our
groups were: Dinosaurs, Sewing, Dance,
Photography, Yearbook, Experimental
Science, Clay, Building, and Trash to
Treasure, Animal Science, Arts & Crafts,
and TV/Radio Broadcasting. Students
were happy to demonstrate and show off
their creations and talents. MES students
are awesome!
The Montgomery Intermediate Pet Care
E-Track Cluster organized a pet supplies
drive under the direction of Mrs.
Christine Gigliotta. This group of students
chose to raise funds and supplies for the
Montgomery County Animal Shelter by
offering a “Paws Off” day to students.
Supplies were collected at the car-rider
and bus lines and money was gathered in
every homeroom.
Students were given a pass to take off
their shoes last Friday in exchange for a
donation to the shelter.
What a great way to learn about pets,
organization, advertising, and giving back
to the community!

Third graders at SCE have worked very
hard on their E-Tracks display for our
showcase that took place Wednesday,
December 10th from 8:45-10:30. They
were able to show off all they have
learned by participating in E-Tracks this
semester. We feel sure that parents,
administrators, and community members
were beyond amazed at their hard work!
Welcome to Hollywood!

SCE was honored to host the UIL
competitions last week. We had several
students who placed in their
competitions. Thank you to the
dedication of the coaches and students
for making this event successful for SCE!
Third Graders at SCE are working hard
and anxiously awaiting Winter
Break. The feeling of the holidays is
surrounding us each day! They have
been shopping for their family and
friends at the PTA Peppermint Village
Store and are learning about setting and
sticking to a budget with their purchases.

The MHS Theatre Department is studentled this year by a MHS Leadership
Council formed by 14 amazing students.
The 2014-2015 LC motto is “Beyond You”
which represents being part of the whole
and desiring to serve ~ giving outside
ourselves.
The Council has provided entertainment
for retirement centers, The Faith
Fighting Cancer Tea, Bentwater's
Christmas in Paris and entertainment at
the LOVE seminar at the Methodist
Church.

Montgomery Junior High students
donated over 14,000 cookies this year for
the 2014 Christmas in Historic
Montgomery Cookie Walk. You could
feel the Christmas spirit come alive as
parents and students dropped of their
beautifully decorated cookies to support
their community. MJH history teachers
encouraged their students to participate
in this worthy cause as all proceeds are
used to preserve and maintain historic
buildings owned by the Montgomery
Historical Society
This group of teens serves the
physical needs of the department as well
- painting, updating, organizing and
creating. "Learning to serve today helps
us to be aware of other's needs later in
life," explained one student council
member.
Keep an eye out for these industrious
young people in the Theatre
Department.
Congratulations go out to Lauren Cotton
for placing 1st in this year's spelling bee

represent Montgomery Junior High in the
Area Bee in February - Go Lauren!!
