Challenge the capstone design contest, Build the creative world!
The 2015 International Capstone Design Contest on Renewable Energy Technology (CORE 2015) will be held on January 7,
2015 at Mokpo National University, Mokpo, Korea. CORE is aiming at giving undergraduate students a chance to challenge the
innovative ideas on renewable energy technologies. This capstone design contest will inspire them with innovation, creativity
and pioneering. They will share research results and practical experiences with other students at CORE 2015. This is the 4th
capstone design contest that has been held in Mokpo annually since 2012. The organizers call for proposals on renewable
energy technologies. Undergraduate students are invited to submit proposals and challenge the capstone design contest.
Explore Mokpo City acknowledged as a center of the industries and culture of southern west region in Korea.
CORE Scope
We solicit proposals with creative notion and feasible
applications in the renewable energy technology. Topics
within the scope of the CORE include the following areas, but
not limited to:
 Biofuel
 Biomass
 Geothermal energy
 Hydroelectricity
 Solar energy
 Tidal power
 Ocean energy
 Wind power
 ICT-energy
 Smart grid
Proposal Submission
Prospective students are invited to complete the attached
proposal form and return the form to the secretariat below
by email no later than November 20, 2014. Refer to the
attachment of proposal form in MS Word. The proposal
should be original and novel. The organizers will review the
contributed proposals and notify students of review results
on November 25, 2014. Accepted students will make
poster presentation of their works and demonstrate
prototypes at CORE 2015. Poster sample will be provided
later. English will be used for all materials and presentations.

 Submission of poster: December 20, 2014
Benefit to Accepted Students
Some of accepted students will be provided with air fare in
economy class, lodging and boarding during the CORE 2015,
except other local transportation and expenses. The air fare
will be supported fully or in half, depending on proposal
quality. The organizers will announce students of the extent
of supporting the air fare on Nov 25. The organizers will
arrange dormitory inside campus for their lodging and
boarding. The benefit will be limited to a presenter, no
longer to supervisors or any other colleagues.

Applicant Requirement
Only undergraduate students are qualified for submitting
proposals to CORE 2015. Student ID card will be requested
to present as a proof. The benefit will NOT be provided to
the students who ever attended the CORE before.
Evaluation Criteria and Capstone Awards
On the 1st step the organizers will review the contributed
proposals in creativity, innovation and relevance of renewal
energy through the proposal. On the 2nd step they will
evaluate the works in energy effect, communication skills,
presentation and materials preparation at the time of
CORE2015. Students of accepted proposals should submit
posters until December 20, 2014 and bring prototypes to
the CORE. A winner of best capstone design will be awarded
a certificate and a gift. The types of award will include best,
golden, silver and special respectively. Detailed program will
be announced later.
