China: QB/T 2673-2013, Footwear-Specification of Marking, Effective from 1st July, 2014 Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China (MIIT) has released a new standard, QB/T 2673-2013 FootwearSpecification of marking. The existing standard QB/T 2673-2004 will be st superseded, and will come into effect from 1 July, 2014. The new standard is further standardized the identification of footwear product, and compliance with international practices. Major changes are as follows: QB/T 2673-2013 states the footwear product identification must be labeled with the following information: trademarks, product names, Chinese shoe size, material, place of origin (For domestic production, details to provinces; for non-domestic production, details to country or region), company name and contact details, "three guarantees" warranty (Return, Repair & Replacement policy), implemented product standard number, date of production, colour, Lot number, and product quality grade. Labeling on footwear The labeling requirement on footwear is amended in this new version. The standard specifies the labeling information at least should include: Trademark or Company name, shoe size, and Lot number. Labeling of retail packaging (with hangtag) The following information should at least be labeled: Product name, shoe size, material, place of origin, company name and contact details, "three guarantees" warranty, implemented product standard number, date of production, colour, batch number, and product quality grade. Date of production is a newly added item, and also amended the labeling requirement of material identification, place of origin, company name and contact details, and product name. Such as company contact details should include telephone number and other contact method details. Labeling on carton packaging The product name and trademark, or product name with company name and contact details should at least be labeled on carton packaging. Labeling format requirement: The information on footwear, retail packaging (with hangtag), and carton packaging must be consistent.
