Marvel Application Guidelines for Optimum Performance Spray coverage of MARVEL is Key Factor. Optimum Coverage = Optimum Control At left, are the results of a spray droplet deposition study. Two nozzles were chosen, a Flat Fan XRC 8003 and an Air Induction 11003 calibrated to apply either 10 gallons OR 20 gallons of finished spray per acre. The water sensitive spray deposition cards show the Flat Fan nozzle regardless of water volume providing better coverage. Similarly, the coverage is greater where the 20 gallons of water was used. Greater spray coverage results in superior weed control. This is especially true for postemergence control of weeds such as common ragweed, lambsquarters and nightshade. Select a nozzle that will provide greater spray coverage. (ABOVE). Water Volume, minimum 10 gallons but 15 – 20 gallons is better (ABOVE). Weed Size, smaller weeds are easier to control (RIGHT). Spray adjuvants, select proper adjuvant and rate under various conditions (BELOW).
