Event code
Event title
Ensure you have the correct recording mode selected
Displayed on the screen you should see the following two symbols:
MP3192 (top left of screen)
H (bottom left of the screen)
If one or neither of these are displayed stop recording and refer to
the trouble shooting section below.
Press stop – only at the end of the training
We would like one continuous recording of the event therefore only
when the training has been completed fully and the delegates have
left should you stop the recording. This is done by pressing the stop
button, with the square symbol.
Turn off
Slide the button on the left side to the Hold position which will avoid
any recordings being inadvertently erased. The device will then
power-down within 5 minutes.
Trouble shooting
The Dictaphone will not turn on
Most commonly this is due to the batteries being flat. If this is the case please
purchase a new AAA battery for the device. This can be claimed back through the
usual expenses process.
I cannot access the home screen
Repeatedly press the list button below the screen, which will return you to the
home screen display.
If this does not work you are in the menu screen. To exit the menu screen press
the menue button once, then list repeatedly until you return to the home screen.
I cannot select “recorder” from the home screen
Whilst in the home screen you will be able to navigate up and down the list using
the “+” and “-“ buttons on the centre of the device. Scroll through this list until
“Recorder” is highlighted in black. It is not necessary to select this option
The device will not record when I press the circular red button
The device will only record if you have selected “Recorder” from the home
screen. To do this please refer to the above.

What should I do with the device during the breaks?
Do not stop the recording. The device should be recording throughout the whole
event without breaks. If/when you leave the room during these breaks ensure
the device is left recording in the room. If the room is not locked conceal the
device to avoid the temptation of theft.
The device has stopped recording during the event.
If for any reason the device stops recording you must stop delivery of the event
and attempt the recording process again.
If the device starts recording again ensure you stamp the recording as before at
the start indicating this is part 2 of the event.
If the battery is flat please replace with new ones. The cost for replacing these
can be claimed back through expenses.
