The American Women of Surrey (AWS) – AWS began in 1975 with the aim of bringing
Expatriate women together to share the joys and challenges of living in a foreign country.
AWS currently serves over 400 members. We have over 40 different nationalities in our
club. The group’s strong volunteer network also supports the local community through a
variety of charity fund-raising activities. Our Gift Fayre is the largest of these efforts.
The Gift Fayre – The AWS Gift Fayre is the club’s largest annual charity fundraising event,
now on it’s 24th year. It is the longest running gift fayre in the area. Hosting the event for
the first time last year, ACS Cobham International School will again be our venue for this
year’s event. The ACS Cobham International School is very central to where many of our
members reside and offer advantages, with its ease of access and generous space, both in
parking and exhibition area. With over 90 top-quality vendors exhibiting a wide variety of
handmade crafts and other gift items, there will be something special for everyone on your
shopping list! Items typically range in price from just a few pounds, to up to £50 - £100.
The Fayre is extensively promoted to our membership for the months before the event via
the club’s various activities and its online newsletters and blasts. The Fayre is also promoted
to the general public through traditional media, and more extensively via online social
media. Since 1975 the AWS has raised and donated over half-a-million pounds in funds and
gifts-in-kind to more than 150 local charities.
Fees – A table stall at our event will entitle you to a 6’ table within a total exhibition space of
6’ x 6’. Table size, height and condition may vary slightly. You may apply for additional
tables, but assignment of more than one table per exhibitor is left to the discretion of AWS
based on a variety of factors. Tables on the perimeter of the exhibit floors are available for a
slight premium. Electricity is available to a limited number of perimeter tables only, for an
additional one-time charge of £10. Total stall space available is 6’ x 6’ with about 1’ on each
side.

Silent Auction – We kindly ask that each vendor donate an item representative of their
business, of an average price value, to be collected by a Gift Fayre member before the fayre
begins at 10am. All donated items will be put into a silent auction during the AWS Holiday
Luncheon in December. Last year we raised over £2,200 for charity from the items donated
from the vendors at the fayre.
Donation – In addition to the a silent auction item, we will request that participating
Vendors kindly donate a £10, minimum expected, to further help support our charity
fundraising efforts. At the event, the Vendor will find on their table a donation collection
envelope with the names of the AWS support charities. We will ask that you place your
donation here, and kindly indicate with a tick mark which charity you would like your
donation to support. Each charity will identify how your contributions will help their
respective efforts. Your contributions will truly have a lasting impact on the individuals and
families that these charities work tirelessly to assist.
Vendor Selection – Completion of an Vendor Application Form does NOT imply acceptance.
AWS reserves the right to limit the number of exhibitors in a similar category to ensure
diversity of products at the Fayre, but also at the same time can not guarantee that certain
product categories will not be duplicated. Please include a website address highlight your
products (preferred) with your application in order that AWS can better evaluate your
product. If a website address is not available please email sample photographs of your
products and display to [email protected].
Cancellation – less than 60 days notice – no refund. 60 days or more notice – 50% refund.
Space Assignments – Specific space assignments are the sole discretion of AWS (and
changes can not be made once a location has been assigned). You may, however, request a
certain location but this does not imply a guarantee. The AWS will try to accommodate
requests as much as possible. Please note, if you will be bringing a display or your own
fixtures and fittings, you must give accurate details of these in your application. Otherwise,
AWS will not permit you to display these. Please do not bring more than your space can
accommodate.
Registration – Complete the online Vendor Application Form as soon as possible. The
Vendor Selection Committee will meet on April 1,Tuesday to review all accepted applications
for consideration. You will be notified via email as to your application status. If you will
extended a table stall, you will be sent a Vendor Contract that will need to be complete and
emailed back, as well as given details for a BACS payment that will need to transacted within
10 working days.
When payment is received, you will receive an emailed payment
confirmation. If your application is not accepted we will keep your details on file for future
events, and consideration, should their be last minute cancellations.
Approximately 15 days prior to the event, you will receive your space assignment and final
information packet.

charities that AWS supports.
