A very big thank you to everyone involved with the start-up and operation
of the local food bank. It is open the 3rd Saturday of each month from
10:00 am to 11:00 am in the back of Weston City Hall.
The initial idea I believe started with Greg and Lois Phillips. Chet Mills,
Robert Hill, Pattie Reinhart, and Dawn and Mark Aby carried the initial
planning phase forward.
Thanks to Mike Dowd, Jim Varaby, Robert Hill, Chet Mills, and Roy McGill,
Jr. for construction of the food bank room. Electrical wiring will be done by
Doyle Electric. The space will be sheet rocked after the electrical inspection
is completed.
Pastor Bill Dobos accepts the food delivery each week. Chet, Lori, and Tabor
Mills, Robert, Christie, and Ashley Hill, Athena Mayor John Shafer and son
Michael, Weston City Council member Bill Boyd, Mary Jaggers, Samantha
Keeney, Sierra and Lily Ly, Eric Washburn, and Dawn and Mark Aby have all
been on hand to help on food distribution day.
This is by no means a complete list of folks who have contributed to this
worthy project. Many thanks to all who have given of their time and talents.
Volunteers are always welcome to help with the food bank. Contact me for
details.
