SABIANA INCREASES GROWTH POTENTIAL THROUGH INTEGRATION INTO
THE AFG GROUP
The AFG Group is buying the majority of shares of Sabiana S.p.A., a globally active and leading
company in the heating, air-conditioning and ventilation industry from Corbetta, Milan – Quicker
growth enabled – Management and production will remain the same in Italy.
Corbetta, 27 June 2014 – Sabiana S.p.A. will be integrated into AFG Arbonia-Forster-Holding AG
with effect from 1 July 2014 and will see even quicker growth under the AFG umbrella – on the
one hand through the expansion of the current product range and on the other hand through the
use of the AFG distribution network in the residential building sector. Furthermore, Sabiana
S.p.A. will be gaining even more strength in global competition. Sabiana and AFG customers will
in future benefit from the full product range of the AFG Building Technology Division in the areas
of heating industrial, commercial and residential buildings, industrial and commercial
ventilation, environmentally friendly building air-conditioning and the improvement of indoor air
quality.
The mutual decision of the two owner families is generated by the strategic wish to ensure
Sabiana’s future for a time beyond of personal destinies by transferring it under a managerial
leadership.
AFG is a leading construction materials supply group from an international and technological
perspective. Through its three divisions Building Technology, Building Envelope and Building
Security, it offers almost everything for building envelopes and interiors. Worldwide, it includes
over 40 distribution companies and is active in more than 70 countries through its representatives
and partners. The eleven main production sites are located in Switzerland, Germany, France, the
Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, the USA and China. A total of around 6 300 staff are employed.
Thanks to the addition of the Sabiana product range, the AFG Building Technology Division will in
future offer a full programme, from individual components to integral system solutions in the
1 areas of heating, air-conditioning and ventilation technology as well as sanitary equipment
through the brands Kermi, Arbonia, Prolux, PZP and Sabiana.
Sabiana S.p.A. will be integrated into the Building Technology Division and developed as an
independent business unit. Both the present management, which includes the two families that
founded the company, as well as the production sites in Italy will be retained. Ulrich Bornkessel,
Head of International Markets & Sales at AFG, who has more than 20 years of experience in the
air-conditioning and ventilation industry, will take charge of the business unit.
