Agriculture and food security are now occupying centre stage in the political
economy of nations and in global interactions. At Agrovision, the best of
innovations & technologies in the agricultural sector are showcased for value
addition and enhancing productivity. Through intensive workshops &
exhibition, Agrovision has proved to be a great learning experience for the
farming community. Agrovision is one such genuine initiative, which provides
an integrative framework and a platform for all the stake holders consisting of
farmers, government, NGOs, scientists, industry to come under single
umbrella for deliberating, debating and conducting business in a professional
manner for the all round growth of agriculture.
I am happy to note that the Agrovision through its sustained efforts in organizing free
workshops and interactive exhibition is addressing the concerns of farmers of the
Central India. My compliments to the organizers of the event and I wish them success
in their endeavour of improving the income of the farmers and enhancing the

Agrovision has completed five years of its march and brought profound impact on farm

India’s economic security continues to be largely dependent on agriculture sector and
shall continue to be so in near future. It is important to accelerate the agricultural
productivity & also encourage natural resource base of Agriculture for sustainable
production. There is thus an urgent need to address several challenges confronting
agriculture sector to restore its vitality & put it back on higher growth trajectory. In
achieving this, Agrovision in its own limited capacity attempts to showcase the new
tools of science & technology which have started offering tremendous opportunities
for application in agriculture. Agrovision is therefore organizing its sixth edition with
the theme “Innovations in Agriculture”. While all the earlier editions of Agrovision were
a tremendous success, this edition promises to deliver on even larger parameters.

One of the major attractions of Agrovision is the mega exhibition, which
brings together a wide array of participants from Corporate, Central & State

WORKSHOPS FOR THE FARMERS
The free interactive workshops for the farmers are
one of the most significant feature of Agrovision.
Workshops provide an opportunity to the farmers not
only to learn about the latest advancements in the
field of Agriculture but also the techniques of getting
better yield. Experts share their first hand experience
and years of expertise to guide the farmers. Success
stories shared by the farmers are very encouraging
and help them to understand the practicalities in
adapting technologies & modern farm practices.
In the 5th edition of Agrovision a record number of 50,000 farmers attended over 30 free workshops. The
workshops were conducted by 60 experts from ICAR, IARI, Agri universities, industry etc. covering a wide
range of topics. The scope of the workshops shall be further enhanced during 6th Agrovision for more
deliverables to the farmers.

Yield of major crops like: Soyabean, Cotton, Paddy, Citrus Fruits, Sugarcane etc.
Use of technology & modern farm practices in agriculture: Greenhouse / Net Shed Farming Micro Irrigation /
Water Management, Pre & Post Harvest Management, Horticulture & Processing etc. ICT in Agriculture,
Organic Farming, Contract Farming, Floriculture, Agri Finance etc.
Enhance supplementary income of farmers through: Livestock management like Dairy, Poultry, Fisheries,
Goat Keeping, Bee Keeping, Vermi culture etc.

ON FOOD PROCESSING
A one day Conference is held during Agrovision every year on current issues of importance related to
agriculture. This year during 6th Agrovision, we plan to organise a One day Conference on Food
Processing. The Conference shall be inaugurated at the hands of Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal,
Hon’ble Union Minister of Food Processing Industries.
This will be a platform for discussion among top industry leaders on the various opportunities and
challenges in the food processing & secondary farming activities and the steps to overcome them. It will
be a great opportunity to collaborate with experts, professionals, farmers and organisations with
compatible goals.
