1.
Introduction
The ASAEN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM) Retreat will be convened
at Aureum Palace Hotels and Resorts, Bagan, Mandalay Region, Myanmar

Media Corner
Media corner will be situated at Bagan Viewing Tower , Ground Floor,
Aureum Palace Hotels and Resort. It will be in operation from 08:30-18:00
hrs on 15-18 January, 2014.

Accreditation/ Registration
A. Dates for Media Accreditation:
™ Online Media Registration via www.asean2014.gov.mm
Will begin on 20 December 2013 and close on 05 January
2014.
™ Identification Pass will be issued on 15 January, 2014.
B. All media who are interested in covering the event must register by
using the prescribed Media Registration Form and submit it by

C. How to Register:
1. Complete the Media Registration Form and attach the following
documents:
• Letter of assignment from the editor/executive of the media;
• The career identification card for Myanmar or passport for
non-Myanmar citizens with the validity of at least six months;
• Press card that indicates your affiliation and is valid until the
end of December 2013;
• A recent color passport-size photo (40 mm x 60 mm) in the
JPG format.
2. Should the online registration being inaccessible, other mean of
registration is available by sending a completed form along with
soft copies of the required documents to Mr.Zeyar, Director
(Radio) MRTV, or registering offline at the Department of
information and Public Relation, Ministry of Information before
05 January, 2014.
D. Members of the media who wish to report the meetings are required to
be accredited and in procession of a media badge. The media badge
must be WORN AT ALL TIMES at the official venues and will be
required for entry.
Media applications for accreditation must be accompanied by a letter of
assignment from the editor or a news executive from his/her respective
media organization.
Applications without an accompanying signed letter of assignment will
not be processed.
4.
Visa Requirement
Applicants who are not based in Myanmar are required to apply for a
journalist visa at the nearest Myanmar Embassy/ Representative Offices.
5.
Customs Clearance Requirement
The list of equipments from all applicants must be legalized by the nearest
Myanmar Embassy/ Representative offices for importation and exportation
purpose before 05 January, 2014.

Media Services Offering
•
During the course of AMM Retreat, a corner will be provided with
chairs, tables, and Wi-Fi will be made available at Aureum Palace Hotel
and Resorts on '' First come, first serve'' base.
•
Information officials will be assigned for coordination and
registration on-site at the venue of the event for some media personnel who
missed online and offline registration.
7.
Accommodation and Travel Arrangements
Accommodation is limited for the meetings therefore media or organizations
are advised to book early if they wish to secure accommodation within a
reasonable distance of Meeting.
Media are required to make their own reservation directly with the Floral
Breeze Hotel before 01 January,2014.

Media personnel will be responsible for their own travel arrangements,
reservation and payments of hotel, accommodation and meals.
8.
Transportation
Unless otherwise arranged, media are responsible for their own
transportation. One-day car rental fee (including driver) from Mandalay to
Aureum Palace from 100 - 200 US$. These services are available for
booking 24 hours near the luggage pick up area and at the arrival hall exit at
Mandalay Airport. Per trip fare varies, depending on vehicle type (highway
tolls included).

Dress Code
Media representatives should wear proper attire while covering all events.
Dark lounge suit or smart attire is advisable. Please avoid tank-tops, shorts,
slippers and sandals.

Other Information
Banking and Currency
Foreign currency and travellers' cheques are conveniently exchanged
and cashed at major banks and authorized money exchangers. Banks
are generally open on weekdays from 09:00 - 15:00 hrs. The banks in
the shopping malls however operate for longer hours until at least
19:30 hrs. everydays of the week. Cash can be withdrawn from the
ATMs. The exchange rates vary daily is approximate to 1 USD.
Kindly check the local banks for daily exchange rates. Hotels,
shopping malls, restaurants and ATMs accept most international
credit cards, including Visa and Master Cards.

Climate: Bagan Region is normally sunny; warm and humid.
Temperature during January is in range of 20-290C.
Electricity/Voltage
Standard voltage is 220 volts AC at 50 Hertz. Wall outlets usually
