With more than 1500 individual responses we know more about what residents like about the Council, what you dislike and what you want to alter. The survey reinforced what we already thought – education is good and improving, recycling is effective, people hate dog fouling and litter, the roads are dreadful, we need to regenerate our Town Centres and people want us to be better at communicating and listening. We have lots of other ideas and suggestions that we are working on. One survey hit home which resonates with our thinking. At present the Council has “no ambition”, “few attempts have been made to market South Ayrshire further afield” and “no investment in the good years”. South Ayrshire has more than 112,000 residents, this is the birthplace of Burns, with a magnificent coastline and sailing opportunities, fantastic education, a first class racecourse, an airport, some of the world’s best golf courses, the list goes on and on. Under the Tories and Labour, the Council has never achieved its potential. The SNP can and will make a difference Since 2007 your SNP team has been a catalyst for solving problems in a different way. Some steps have been taken, but this election is a real opportunity for the SNP to take the Council forward.
