The BAK subject is designed to equip you with sufficient theoretical knowledge about your aircraft, its systems and how it performs so that you can fly safely as a solo pilot within a limited area of operation. It is an introductory course that will give you an insight into a wide range of topics but with a relatively low level of complexity. BAK is very important because it used as a basis for more advanced studies. It is recommended that you study BAK whilst completing your initial practical flying lessons. Who is this course suitable for? This Basic Aeronautical Knowledge course is intended for student pilots undertaking training through both the Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAUS) and CASA systems. What is your time commitment? The course will run for four (4) consecutive Sundays commencing 23/3/2014 through to and including 13/04/2014, 0900 to 1600 hours local time with a break for morning tea and lunch (tea and coffee are provided). What subjects are included in the BAK exam?
