In addition to the traditional Butterfat, Protein, Lactose, Solids, and Somatic Cell testing, we can also test for MUN’s! It has increased our capacity from 240 samples per hour to 450 samples per hour. A lot of training and great flexibility from our staff have made it a very easy and successful transition. MUN – Milk Urea Nitrogen MUN can be tested in several ways but traditionally the testing involves milk samples. MUN results vary from herd to herd and it can vary within multiple cows within one herd. The variation between herds and cows indicates a range in protein, energy, and water intake. This could show signs of potential problems with your feeding programs. Bulk tank or pen samples are they preferred samples to be tested.
