UW-La Crosse Intramural Sports Last Updated: August 2014 BAG TOSS RULES *All rule changes will be selected in gray Team Captain’s Meeting: All captain’s meetings will be held online through IMLeagues. It will be MANDATORY for all captains to take the online quiz and score 100% in order to register your team. The quiz will contain general policy along and sport-specific questions. UW-L Rec Sports will not hold spots for teams during registration. Entry Fee: The entry fee of $5 for singles or $10 for doubles must be paid online after the successful completion of the quiz. You will be able to pay the fee online through PayPal with a credit/debit card or electronic check. League Schedules: Schedules for league play and playoffs will be done through IMLeagues. Please go to the UW-L Intramural Sports website and click the Sign Up tab to login and gain access to the IMLeagues website. Default/Forfeit: If you are unable to compete in a contest, please notify the REC Information Counter by phone (608.785.5225) three (3) or more hours prior to your contest to avoid a forfeit fee. If you do not notify three or more hours before your contest or you do not show up for the contest, your team will be charged a forfeit fee of $2 for singles or $5 for doubles. General Procedures/Reminders: Please refer to the 2014-15 Intramural Sports Participant Handbook for all policies and procedures related to intramural contests. Additional information can be found on the Intramural Sports Website. 1. Each participant must present a valid UW-L student I.D. to the intramural supervisor or scorekeeper at every contest. No other form of I.D. will be accepted. 2. All participants must be on the team roster. Any member not on the roster may complete a roster addition online via IMLeagues. No roster add sheets will be made available at the site of the contest. No participant may play on two teams in the same league or a forfeit will be charged to the second team he/she participated on. Roster additions are only allowed during the regular season and cannot be made for post-season contests. 3. Each participant must wear appropriate apparel and non-marking athletic footwear. Pockets are not allowed for Bag Toss. 4. First aid treatment is typically, but not always, available during intramural contests. Any bleeding must be stopped and cleaned up before participant can re-enter the contest. 5. All visible jewelry, watches, and bracelets must be removed or covered legally prior to participation. RULES 1. GAME SETUP: a. An intramural supervisor will run the clock, check participants in, and record the scores. b. All games will be played on the Recreational Eagle Center Multipurpose Room. c. Participants will generally be scheduled 3 games per night vs. different opponents. 2. PARTICIPATION: a. All leagues are “open” and not gender specific. b. Doubles teams may have up to 3 people on the roster. c. Doubles teams must compete with 2 players at all times. 3. GAME PLAY: a. The matches will be first to 21. b. All games are win by 2 with no penalty for a “bust”. c. A coin flip or rock paper scissors will determine who throws first or what side of the board your team stands on. i. Teammates will stand across from each other (one on the right side of their board, one on the left side of their board). d. Games will be limited to 15 minutes to ensure all 3 games that night are played. i. The intramural supervisor will notify the teams when there is 5 minutes left in the game and again when there is 1 minute left. ii. Whichever team is ahead at the end of the 15 minutes will receive the victory. 1. A tie will be played out in a sudden victory format. 4. SCORING: a. Points are scored by landing the bag on the board (1 point) or throwing the bag in the hole (3 points). i. Bags cannot bounce onto the board. A bag bouncing on the board should be removed before the next throw. b. Scoring works on the “cancellation” system. i. If Team A scores 5 points one round and Team B scores 3 points, Team A gets 2 points.
