Analysis and verification of Mac layer behavior and Network
Performance of Current Technologies Int. (CTI) – Broadband over Power
Line (BPL) System.
o Analyzed the impact of network scaling on throughput and latency at
any point in the BPL network.
o Required building of large scale BPL networks in CTI-Labs using
CTI-BPL devices (API-2000-LV, API-2000-GW, etc), Cisco
Switches, attenuators and open source Linux tools to measure the
required parameters.
Enabling CTI–BPL Linux simulator with SNMP service using NET-SNMP
tool.
o Integrated the NET-SNMP tool into CTI-BPL Linux simulator to
enable SNMP service.
o This project required advanced expertise in C Language.
Performance evaluation of video services (e.g. VoD & IPTV) over CTIBPL Networks. (Master Thesis)
o Carried out an exhaustive study of Audio/Video codecs (H264,
MPEG4, VC1, AAC, etc) network and streaming protocols (RTP,
RTMP, MMS, etc) to identify various factors that affect video quality
and its delivery to client-end over the BPL network.
o Modified VLC player and Darwin Streaming Server 5.5.5 were
used as media client and media server, respectively.
o Designed and implemented several testing networks and tools in
CTI-Lab and conducted exhaustive experiments with varying settings
to measure network performance in different scenarios with video
service.

KFUPM, Saudi Arabia – (Sep 04-Feb 05)

o Implemented ICA in MATLAB and performed music and speech
separation with different samples.
