Schedule of Educational Sessions
Keynote Speaker: John Norquist
President & CEO of Congress for New Urbanism (Chicago, IL, US)
Mr. Norquist is a leader in
national discussions of urban
design and educational issues.
Norquist’s work promoting New
Urbanism as an alternative and
antidote to sprawl’s social and
environmental problems draws
on his experience as a big-city
mayor. Under his leadership
as Mayor of Milwaukee from
1988-2004, the city experienced
a revision of the city’s zoning code and reoriented
development around walkable streets and public amenities,
such as the 3.1 mile Riverwalk. Norquist is the author
of The Wealth of Cities and has taught courses in urban
planning and development at the University of Chicago,
Marquette University, and the University of Wisconsin—
Milwaukee’s School of Architecture and Urban Planning.
Expert Express and Four O’clock Forum
The Expert Express is a new format for presenter/
attendee interaction. During this session, industry
leaders and selected conference presenters will deliver
a very brief (5-8 minute) description of their research
or topic of interest.
After the initial brief presentations, speakers will
disperse around the room to join attendees for
small group discussions on their various topics at
the Four O’clock Forum.
Conference Mobile App
Want conference information at your fingertips? This
year ISA is excited to offer conference program information in a mobile format. Attendees will be able to
download educational session information, browse the
exhibitor list, schedule of activities, and much more.
