Inter-state Transport Agreement between Karnataka and Kerala The Governments of Karnataka and Kerala have entered into one principal Agreement and four supplemental agreements, so far. The previous Inter-state Transport Agreement with Kerala State was entered into during the year 200708. Due to increase in the passenger traffic between the two States and to provide better transport facilities to the travelling public a need was felt to enter into fresh supplemental Agreement. Hence, the Karnataka STUs and Kerala State Road Transport Corporation held several discussions. Sri. B.N.S.Reddy,IPS, Managing Director, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation and Sri. Antony Chacko, Chairman and Managing Director, Kerala State Road Transport Corporation held discussions on 11-07-2014 at Bangalore and finalised the routes of the State Transport Undertakings for the proposed V Supplemental Inter-state Transport Agreement to be entered into by the Governments of Karnataka and Kerala. The details of proposals finalised are as under. Sl. STU No. 1 Karnataka STUs 2 Kerala SRTC Routes Buses Service kms in reciprocating State 29 102 12375.4 17 84 12294.6 The Agreement provides for operating additional services to various places in the neighbouring States on daily basis, during fairs and festivals and summer season. For the first time provision has also been made for operation of special services during weekends to Kerala State. Services can be operated on the said routes after both the Governments enter into an Agreement. Sri. B.N.S.Reddy,IPS, Managing Director, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation and Sri.
