School of Nursing Traditional Undergraduate BSN Program The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is designed for the student who is not a registered nurse and wants to earn an undergraduate degree in nursing. The first two years of your undergraduate education are spent obtaining non-nursing prerequisite courses at a college or university of your choice. The BSN program offered at the Lubbock campus is completed in four semesters (24 months), or 63 hours. Completion of the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) - (Offered by Assessment Technologies, Inc.), at a proficient level or higher is required. Applicants are required to participate in an interview process. Applicants must submit appropriate documentation, i.e. TOEFL score, if an international student. Military service documentation must be submitted if applicable. Applicants are reviewed in an individual and holistic manner. No single factor determines admission. Academic Criteria • At time of application submission, 40 credit hours must be completed of the required non-nursing prerequisite courses, including at least three of the four lab sciences, not including nutrition. • A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for all grades earned at all schools attended. • Students receiving a bachelor’s degree from TTUHSC must meet the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s general education core curriculum.
