Boynton Williams Architectural Scholarship General Information: Boynton Williams & Associates (BWA) architectural firm in appreciation of its 30 year relationship with the school districts of Oklahoma has established The Boynton Williams Architectural Scholarship. Two (2) five thousand dollar ($5000.00) scholarships will be awarded, one to a student majoring in architecture at the College of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma and one to a student majoring in architecture at the School of Architecture at Oklahoma State University. Scholarship Eligibility Standards: Applicants must be a graduating senior of an active OSAC member school district and to be enrolled and majoring in architecture at either the College of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma or the School of Architecture at Oklahoma State University. A major in architecture must be declared. Application Deadline: Applications must be received or postmarked by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2014. There will be no exceptions. Faxes and emails will not be accepted. If typed on a computer, the essay must be double spaced using 12 point Times New Roman font. The essay will address this prompt: How will the scholarship assist you in achieving your career goals? Highlight areas and activities not reported on any requested form. You may note any part-time jobs, travel or hobbies that may relate to your career goals. If applicable, please discuss your level of financial need. There is no correct way to respond to the essay. The completion of the essay should convey a sense of yourself and let us know some things about you that we may not learn from what is required on the application. Letter of Recommendation: The purpose of the letter of recommendation is to learn about you through someone who knows you and can write a candid, unbiased evaluation of your character and life goals. Please do not ask family members or friends to complete this. Ministers, coaches, teachers, counselors, and employers would be more appropriate. The letter of recommendation should be completed on the form provided, signed, sealed in an envelope and returned with the application packet.
