Welcome to this year’s MICECON in Clark!
To get you started, we are sending you this is briefing kit to provide you with some information/
reminders that you may find useful in planning your trip and going through the conference.
*To those who have received previous notices, please bear with us as we would be repeating details on
some important sections to ensure proper dissemination of information

Please be advised there will be a MICECON Bus for delegates’ free
transfer from Manila to Clark and Clark to Manila. Delegates from
the regions flying via Manila may join the MICECON bus following
the set schedule of transfers. Delegates may also opt to arrange
their own transfer from/to Manila to/ from Clark.

Leisure Parks, Widus Hotel and Casino, Holiday Inn Clark and Montevista Villas –
Mimosa Golf & Country Club)
*Delegates who are not staying in any of the Official Hotels may be dropped off at
SM City Clark, where fixed rate taxis are available for hire to transport delegates to
their respective hotels.
*There will be a 30-minute stopover at an NLEX gas station for lavatory/ quick
brunch break.
IMPORTANT NOTE!
Please note that check in time in the hotels is at 2:00 p.m.
TRANSFER TO SM CITY CLARK (for the Pre-Conference Activity)
Since estimated time of arrival in Clark is about 12:00nn, delegates who will be
participating in the Cook-Off Challenge can deposit their luggage at the official
hotel where they are billeted and proceed to SM City Clark for the Cook-Off
Challenge via the MICECON bus shuttle.
Those not participating in the Cook-Off Challenge may opt to join the bus to SM
City Clark or stay at their hotels until check in.
TRANSFER TO FONTANA CONVENTION CENTER (for Registration)
Registration on 04 June (claiming of conference kits and badges) at the Fontana
Convention Center Lobby will be open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
There will be four (4) batches of transfers in the morning and three (3) batches of
transfers in the afternoon from the official hotels to the Fontana Convention Center:

Conference Transfers/ Shuttle Service
For the duration of the conference, there will be free shuttle service from the four official
hotels to the venue of the conference (Fontana Convention Center) and venue of official
functions/ activities.
Information on the schedule of transfers will be posted at the hospitality desks in the
official hotels and conference venue and at the MICECON mobile app.

Own Arrangements
For those who will be bringing their own vehicles in Clark, kindly observe the traffic rules
and regulations in Clark; for reference, here’s a link to their website

preferred brand may not be available.

Medicine
Make sure to bring any prescribed medication you may need and also some basic medicine such as
paracetamol, ibuprofen, loperamide and mefenamic acid.

Please note that the Cook-Off Challenge with Chef Claude Tayag is part of the MICECON2014 Conference
Program offered for delegates; it is therefore free of charge.
Those who would like to participate but were not able to signify in their online conference registration

Mechanics of the Activity will be as follows:
1. The Cook-Off Challenge is open to MICECON delegates with and without any culinary expertise
2. Participating delegates are required to be on site by 1:00 p.m. (at least one hour before the
competition proper).
3. Delegates will form five (5) teams on site. Each competing team will be composed of five (5) to ten (10)
persons per team. Only team members are allowed in the cooking area.
4. Participating teams will cook a traditional Kapampangan dish on the spot.
5. Teams are required to make use of the “standard ingredients” to be provided by organizers.
6. All ingredients and cooking equipment to be used for the event will be provided by the organizers.
Each team will be provided with identical standard kitchen equipment. Fire extinguishers will be
provided by the organizers for safety reasons.
7. Each recipe MUST be done within the designated time of one hour - inclusive of set-up, cooking,
presentation and clean-up time. The organizers reiterate that- unfinished recipes will be judged as is.
Time warnings will be given periodically throughout the cook-off.
8. Teams should demonstrate good sportsmanship within their own teams as well as with the other
teams. Teams must also be willing to answer questions from the public.
9. Criteria for judging are as follows:

Audience vote
25 points

Presentation
25 points
10. Guest celebrity Chef Claude Tayag will act as judge along with the audience. Should there be a tie,
Chef Claude Tayag will choose the winner. Judge’s decision is final.
After the event, a cooking demo shall be conducted by Chef Claude Tayag.

CONFERENCE KIT AND ID BADGE
Delegates may claim their conference kits and ID badges on 04 June 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m
and on 05 June 2014 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 nn at the MICECON Registration Counter at Fontana
Convention Center.
For security purposes, please wear your ID Badge at all times in the conference and official functions.


The conference venue, Fontana Convention Center will be covered by a free wireless internet (Wi-Fi).

There will be a hospitality desk at the conference registration area (located at the Fontana Convention
Center lobby) and each of the official hotels. The hospitality desk will have a designated liaison officer
from the MICECON2014 Secretariat who will be ready to assist you.


Computer stations will be available at the Fontana Convention Center lobby for downloading speakers’
presentations. Likewise, the presentations may be accessed online through micecon.ph
