This rugged construction guarantees continuous operation in harsh environments, it is used in power stations, steel industries, petrochemical plants, desert areas, etc. This actuator is able to control final elements like dampers, hydraulic converters, etc. using high power actuators to develop torque up to 4.000 daNm. In this actuator, the housing provides a double function of protection and bearing frame. This system assures maximum stiffness without making use of DESIGN & MAIN FEATURES Air supply: dry instrument air according to ISO 8573-1 Operating pressure: Pneumatic version from 7 barg up to 10 barg (special version available on request) Standard operating temperature: -20°C to 70°C (lower or higher temperature on option) 100 daNm) for angular control of dampers, butterfly valves, speed variators, radial vanes, etc. The hand operator is a clutchable lever, equipped with a mechanical system. This system allows the movement of the actuator through an external lever and lock it in the required position. The front part of the housing is easily removable to allow maintenance and access to all components. Available with a wide range of positioners, in particular we suggest FT positioners (see FT brochure for more information) CML Working lever operating angle: - 63/125 and 100/100 ➞ 90° - 100/200 and 125/200 ➞ 70° CMV Working lever operating angle: 70° Lever orientation variable on splined shaft Mechanical position indicator Control signal: 4 to 20 mA (3 to 15 psi) (special cam and/or special control signal available on request) additional supporting structures; consequently, the whole volume inside the housing is available for the most rational installation of the actuator and the various accessories. Inspection is assured by large removable panels. The shaft equipped with an external lever has an operating angle of 70° and is fitted, at its two terminals, with a splined joint which allows the most convenient orientation of the control lever. The engaging of the manual control is made automatically or manually through a dedicated switch, when air fail and lock actuator on last position ready for manual control. CM series - 3 CM control drive actuators Advantages 1 It can work in harsh environment maintaining excellent performance. 2 No competitors have so wide range. 3 Manual override built-in as standard. 4 Easy installation of a wide range of accessories on a separated internal panel. 5 Easy maintenance. 6 Design for a long operating life. 7 Internal SC actuator with built-in permanent lubrication system (see SC brochure for more information). 8 CML-2 The picture shows a typical CML actuator in on-off execution for open and close damper on power station cooler equipment. Balancing Security Sensor device (BSS) allows to switch automatically from manual function to modulating with signal (after request to come in service) only when the signal matches position where actuator is mechanically lock from manual override. BSS is available as an option only for CMV actuator. Actuator with piston built-in permanent lubrication system SC series of actuators are provided with a built-in permanent lubrication system, patented by STI, which assures an extremely smooth valve operation even if dry instrument air is used. Thanks to this lubrication system, which is common to all STI actuators, no maintenance to the moving parts is required, 4 - CM series even after many years of continuous service. The patented lubrication system consists mainly of a grease lubricant filled annular cavity placed inside the cylinder piston, between a sealing ring and a sliding ring to avoid direct contact between the metal surfaces of the piston and the cylinder, even 70° MAX. Rotation of final control element depends on lever length and installation linkage design (normally between 70° and 90° rotation but it can be different). Rotation angle has an influence on torque available on final control element. In the table are shown available thrust for control element when rotation is 70° or 90° as examples (they are the more common). For different rotation angle/installation linkage design a calculation needs to be done. MIN.
