CONGREGATION AT DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL NEW SHIMLA
A Principals’ conclave was held at DAV Public School, New Shimla from 25th
to 27th April, 2014. This congregation of intellectuals under the ageism of
DAV CMC, New Delhi was graced by the honorable President Sh. Punam Suri.
Three hundred delegates from various states i.e. Rajasthan, Punjab, H.P.,
Uttarakhand , Chandigarh, U.P. and Haryana participated in this mega event.
The highlights of the event included spiritual discourse followed by an
academic session.
25 April (Friday)
The morning session was initiated under the able guidance of Mr. S.K.
Sharma with ‘Havan Yajna’ where seventy five Havan Kunds were placed and
more than two hundred dignitaries performed it.
The main focus of the conclave was on spiritual as well as intellectual growth
of all concerned. The learned and Honourable President Sh. Punam Suri
chaired the inaugural session and emphasized on the need to be the
‘number one choice’ of the masses.
Dr. J.S.Rajput, former director NCERT talked about the significance of time,
faster communication as well as transparency in the education system.
Mrs. Nisha Peshin, President DAV CMC expressed her concern over the
qualitative interventions in the education system.
The afternoon session was chaired by Sh. R.S. Sharma, General Secretary,
DAV College Managing Committee.
Mrs. Ritu Gupta ICT consultant & web designer stressed upon the
implementation of E-Governance under the areas of communication and
Financial module as well as common DAV Website Layout. Furthermore
Mrs. Rajinder Narula expressed her opinion over Academic Audit which
ensures quality education of an institution.
The evening session was concluded with Vedic Katha delivered by Dr.
Wagheesh Sharma on the theme ‘Spirituality and Education’.
26 April (Saturday)
The day commenced with ‘Havan Yajna’ seeking the blessings of Almighty. It
was initiated by Sh. S.K. Sharma, Director Publication. and Dr. Pramod
Yogarthi,Principal Dayanand Brahma College,Hisar.
The session was directed by Sh. Rajender Nath , Vice President DAVCMC
Sh.J.P. Shoor, Director PS-1 DAVCMC apprised the masses regarding the
administrative manual which stressed upon the facilitating norms to be
followed by schools.
A speech on the skills of ‘21st Century Learner Transforming Pedagogy’ was
delivered by Dr. Sangeeta Bhatia, Principal, KIIT world School, New Delhi. In
relation to the above, she discussed at length the learning as well as
assessment strategies along with ICT integration.
The morning session was concluded by Mrs. J. Kakaria, Director PS-III
DAVCMC by reinforcing the philosophy of education of Swami Vivekanand.
The evening session was chaired by Mr. Prabodh Mahajan, Vice President,
DAVCMC.
Mrs. Rashmi S. Chari Asst. Director-Edu, DAVCMC shared her views over the
fact that a little effort on the part of a teacher can result into holistic
development of a child that paves the way for success.
In addition to the above she anchored the entire Principals’ conclave.
Mrs. Anita Makkar, Principal, DAV PS Gurgaon discussed the significance of
monitoring and mentoring staff for optimizing quality education.
‘Experiential sharing plays a pivotal role in managing the administrative
practice’ was the highlight of the speech delivered by Mr. Jeevan, Former
Principal DAV College.
The landmark of the evening was the narration of ‘Vedic Katha’ by Dr.
Wagheesh Sharma, under the theme ‘Nurturing Excellence through Value
Based Education’.
27th April (Sunday)
Esteemed President Sh.Punam Suri chaired the final session.
The day started with a motivating speech by Mrs.Chitra Nakra Principal, DAV
Public School, New Delhi.She laid emphasis on the dire need of value based
education among the students in the present scenario.
Dr. R.K. Kohli, VC DAV University Jalandhar acquainted the delegates with
the diverse range of courses conducted by the DAV University of Jalandhar.
He reflected the vision of creating a society committed to learning.
Sh. Punam Suri, The honourable President focussed on varied strategies i.e.
yoga, meditation, exercising and being organized to reduce stress which
accumulates overtime and erodes productivity. He also added that reducing
stress will allow for a better work environment and will promote mutual
efforts amongst team resulting in higher quality of teaching.
A classical dance on the social issue ‘Save Girl Child’ was performed by the
students of DAV Public School, New Shimla.
The revered President Sh.Punam Suri was felicitated by the Regional
Directors of Himachal Pradesh.The office bearers were also honoured by the
worthy President.
Certificates of participation were conferred to all the principals.
The Principals’ Congregation concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed
by Mrs.J.Kakaria .
