SCHEDULE
Monday the 8th is a travel day with check-in. Classes will be Tuesday the 9th through Friday the 12th from 0900 to 1700.
LODGING
Group rates have been arranged with the nearby Hampton Inn and Fairfield Marriott. Details will be available in the
confirmation materials.
EQUIPMENT
You will be responsible for providing all personal equipment including weapons and ammunition. Ammunition round
counts and other equipment requirements for each class are shown in this document and will also be included in your
confirmation documents.
REGISTRATION & DEADLINES
LETC will be limited to the first 160 PAID applicants. Submitting the registration form will reserve a slot, but not classes.
Classes will be reserved once payment is received. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment must
be arranged 30 days before the first day of class to avoid losing your slot.

L.E. SMALL ARMS COMBINATION
MIKE LEHNER - SAFARILAND SHOOTING SCHOOL/ACTION TARGET ACADEMY
This fast paced course will cover each of the main LE small arms; handgun, patrol rifle and shotgun. Each of these
weapons has a 'best use' scenario...but often we don't have the luxury of choosing circumstances.
We will cover using these weapons under optimum circumstances, as well as showing how they can be very useful in less
than ideal circumstances. Practical, real world based operation of these weapons drawn from decades of actual patrol
experience will keep everyone well grounded in the real world of practical application of these proven systems. This will
be a long, but rewarding day, with short breaks between instructional pods of approx. 2 hrs each, with the final block
covering safe and sane transition methods. The order will be handgun, patrol rifle, shotgun, and safe and sane transition
practices
Requirements: Duty handgun with at least 3 magazines, patrol rifle with at least 2 magazines and a carrying pouch for the spare
magazine, duty shotgun with minimum loaded capacity of 5 shells and carrying method for extra ammunition (side saddle, belt caddy,
etc.). 300 rounds hangun, 200 rounds rifle, 250 rounds birdshot, 50 rounds buckshot, 25 slugs.
Instructor Bio: Mike has been a law enforcement firearms instructor for over 30 years and is the Chief Instructor for the Safariland
Shooting School. Mike has achieved the status of CPPA Grand Master, IDPA Master, and IPSC “A” Class and has been a guest instructor
throughout North America and Europe.

Student Requirements: 800 rounds of handgun ammunition - frangible is preferred for maximum safety, but non-frangible is
acceptable. 10 rounds of buckshot or birdshot if you wish to try a shotgun qualification on steel.
Instructor Bio: Peter served for over ten years on the board of directors of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms
Instructors (IALEFI) and has been a regular presenter at national & international conferences since 1986. He presently supervises all
Use of Force Training for the New York State Zone 4 Police Academy. He is a Master Instructor and authorized by the State of New York
to train and certify law enforcement instructors. For over 20 years, Mr. Tarley has been under contract with the State of Connecticut, to
provide annual training for instructors and special team members at the State of Connecticut’s Police Academy. He is the founder and
president of Police Training Division.
PRACTICAL SHOOTING WHILE MOVING
TODD HALLER - SAFARILAND SHOOTING SCHOOL
A dynamic class that will focus on moving while shooting. Students will be instructed in various methods of movement to
and from various positions. The class will also include movement on and from the ground. This class will also address
shooting and moving aspects of vehicle defense.
Student Requirements: Issue sidearm and duty rig, 600 rounds of ammunition.
Instructor Bio: Todd brings 18 years of experience with the Snowmass Village Police Department where he serves as the director of
training for multi-agency training organization. Todd is a Colorado POST Lead Firearms Instructor and an instructor with Safariland
Shooting School and Action Target Academy.
ULTIMATE SHOTGUN
BRIAN HOFFNER - HOFFNER’S TRAINING ACADEMY/ACTION TARGET ACADEMY
This Course introduces you to the high speed world of Safariland Shooting School’s Tactical Shotgun Program. Painlessly
increase your level of speed to a blistering level with the skills necessary to win the deadly fight and go home at the end
of the day. Drills include: Operational positions and indexes, maximum speed presentation, sights and trigger scale,
multiple threats, select slug procedures, high speed reloads, transition, and active scanning through the active fight cycle.
You will be surprised at how fast you hit and win! Shooters will compete for top gun through multiple events.
Requirements: Shotgun (semi-auto or pump), pistol and strong-side holster, 250 rounds birdshot or buckshot, 25 rounds reduced
recoil slug, 50 rounds of handgun ammunition.

RAPID DEPLOYMENT PATROL RIFLE OPERATOR
JOHN KRUPA III - SPARTAN TACTICAL TRAINING GROUP, LLC/ACTION TARGET ACADEMY
This intense firearms training course focuses on instructor development techniques for tactical speed shooting, aggressive
gun-handling skills and dynamic action during tactical deployment with the rifle. Students will develop reflexive gunhandling skills with the rifle that will enable them to quickly and efficiently engage threats while performing multiple
complex tasks.
Prerequisite: This is an advanced rifle skills building course. Students must be a certified rifle instructor or certified rifle operator to
attend this course.
Student Requirements: Note pad, pen, duty belt with holster and magazine carriers, duty pistol with at least two magazines, patrol
rifle with at least three hi-capacity magazines, tactical sling, 500 rounds of rifle ammunition, and 50 rounds of handgun ammunition.
Instructor Bio: John is a police officer with the Orland Hills Police Dept. and has over 21 years of experience in Law Enforcement. He
has previously served as a patrol officer, rapid response officer, FTO and firearms instructor with Chicago PD. He is a certified Master
Firearms Instructor from PTI and graduate firearms instructor from the Secret Service Academy, FBI, DEA and FLETC. John has
attended the last 10 LETC’s and has presented courses as a guest instructor at ASLET, GTOA, IALEFI, ILEETA, ISOA, MTOA, NTOA and
TTPOA conferences.
LE PRECISION RIFLE
BOB NELSON - SAFARILAND SHOOTING SCHOOL
Based on the fact that the average distance of engagement for the LE precision rifle has been less than 75 yards,
this course is designed to emphasize real world applications of the precision rifle in a format that stresses readiness,
speed of position, and making your first shot count.
Moving quickly into position, acquiring the target, and making the shot in seconds rather than minutes or hours is what
this course focuses on. Shooting from uncomfortable positions while under duress at realistic deployment ranges is the
priority. NOTE – This is a one day only class limited to 12 students.
Student Requirements: Centerfire precision rifle with optics (Bolt action or semi-auto, minimum 4x magnification
capable optic), bi-pod, 200 rounds of ammunition, small sand bag and shooting mat encouraged

EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE FOR FIREARMS INSTRUCTORS
BRIAN BARDSLEY, JR. & LUCAS WISE - SPARTAN TACTICAL TRAINING GROUP, LLC
This course focuses on providing firearms instructors with the skills and knowledge to develop emergency medical action
plans and a practical introduction to basic management of life threatening trauma injuries. Lectures focus on gunshot
wound care, pre-incident planning, mindset, communication and equipment & transportation considerations. Principles of
anatomy & physiology will be covered in addition to assessment and treatment modalities. Skill stations will provide
hands-on experience with medical equipment.
Student Requirements: Notebook and pen. Attendees will receive a detailed manual with course materials as well as a CD with class
PowerPoint presentation.
Instructor Bio: Brian is a police officer with the Chicago Police Department and has over 10 years of experience in law enforcement.
He is a certified paramedic, EMT and TEMS operator. He has extensive experience as a paramedic, and brings a wealth of knowledge
forth as a veteran combat medic in the U.S Army treating combat casualties in Iraq. He has made over a dozen guest speaker
presentations onCombat Casualty Care at various hospitals and rehabilitation centers as well as ILEETA, ISOA and previous LETC’s.
Instructor Bio: Lucas is a police officer with the Chicago Police Department and has over 9 years of experience in law enforcement.
He currently serves as a patrol officer in the 18th district. Lucas has presented at 4 LETC’s and has also presented as a guest instructor
at ILEETA, GTOA and ISOA conferences.
TRAINING FOR THE FIGHT WITH THE PISTOL
JAMES WASHINGTON, JR. & VINCE JAMISON - SPARTAN TACTICAL TRAINING GROUP, LLC
This 8-hour training program focuses on developing effective and practical gunfighting skills with the handgun. Students
will be introduced to instructor development drills and advanced gunfighting concepts that are necessary to win deadly
force confrontations. Drills will concentrate on weapon manipulation and multi-tasking during dynamic movement, with
student’s gun-handling skills being evaluated with instructor feedback throughout the course.
Student Requirements: Notepad, pen, duty belt with holster and magazine carriers, duty pistol with at least three hi-capacity
magazines or five single stack magazines and 500 rounds of handgun ammunition.
Instructor Bio: James is a firearms & tactics instructor with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and has over 16 years of
experience in law enforcement. He has previously served as a patrol officer, FTO, firearms instructor and Sergeant with the
Northwestern University Police Department and also has over 10 years of service with the Chicago Housing Authority Police, serving 6
of those years detailed to the FBI Gang Task Force in Chicago. James has attended 3 LETC’s and has presented courses as a guest
instructor at ASLET, ATOA, GTOA and IALEFI conferences.
Instructor Bio: Vince is a police officer with the Chicago Police Department and has over 9 years of experience in law enforcement.
He has served as a patrol officer, gang officer and firearms instructor. He was instrumental in the development of the Chicago Police
Department’s 40-hour Patrol Rifle Operator Course, and has served as the lead instructor for that program since its inception. Vince has
attended 3 LETC’s and has presented courses as a guest instructor at IALEFI, ILEETA and MTOA conferences.
SHOOT, MOVE, COMMUNICATE
DENNIS TUELLER - GLOCK TRAINING DIVISION
Tactical communication, controlled movement, use of cover, and accurate shooting - These are skills that must be
effectively applied by armed personnel to resolve and survive close-range armed confrontations. Students will participate
in range activities that will help them learn and apply techniques and tactics for integrating safe gun handling,
marksmanship, mobility, and verbalization. Along with movement-oriented shooting exercises involving multiple stationary
and moving targets, there is also a strong emphasis on the proper mind-set for combat survival.
Student Requirements: Issue sidearm and duty rig, 500 rounds of ammunition.
Instructor Bio: As a retired 25-year veteran of the Salt Lake City PD, Dennis has trained thousands of men and women from
throughout the world including law enforcement officers, police recruits, firearms instructors, federal agents, S.W.A.T. teams, military
personnel, and corporate security specialists. Perhaps Dennis is best known for researching and developing ground breaking training
protocol, as exemplified in his published seminal article, “How Close is Too Close.” In that text, Dennis identified critical concepts
(“proximics”), which influenced a revolution in tactical training doctrine (the “Tueller Principle”).
SHOOT HOUSE INSTRUCTOR ORIENTATION

Shoot house training provides officers with the ability to move their square range shooting skills to realistic, high stress
conditions in a live fire shoot house. This course offers instructors all the necessary skills to build a safe and effective
shoot house training program. This course will cover:

Student Requirements: Issue sidearm with three magazines and duty rig, soft body armor, 50 rounds of ammunition.
Instructor Bio: Bob is the owner of JDS Tactical, Inc., and starting his fourth decade as a certified firearms instructor. His experience
includes a highly decorated career with the Denver, CO Police Department. Bob was assigned to the Department’s full time SWAT Unit
for 18 years. After retiring from Denver, Bob became a trainer with the world famous Heckler and Koch International Training Division.
There he was awarded the Trainer of the Year and eventually became the Director of Training. Bob is currently an adjunct instructor for
Gunsite Training Academy where he is a Rangemaster for pistol, shotgun, carbine and submachine gun. He is also currently an adjunct
instructor for the Sig Sauer Academy where in teaches Armorer’s Certification Courses and he developed the 1911 Operator’s and
Armorer’s classes. He has also taught and developed course curriculum for the SureFire Institute, Bravo 18/OSS, Pepper Ball and ALS
Technologies. He is recognizes as an expert in simulation training and has consulted for Ti Training and Real Action Marker.
MODERN HIGH SPEED PISTOL AND KNIFE
BRIAN HOFFNER – HOFFNERS TRAINING ACADEMY
Brian Hoffner’s modern SoSu techniques provide a faster, more controlled, accurate and efficient combat operation of the
pistol while reducing liability caused by traditional methods that can conflict with safety rules. Knife skills are combined
with pistol skills to further ensure the safety of law enforcement Officers in a CQB deadly force confrontation.
The pistol and the pocket knife are the two items carried on a daily basis by police officers. This training will teach the
officer how to use them together effectively in a system that increases officer safety while reducing liability for the
department, as well as the officer. Those attending will learn using the Hoffner Folding Knife Trainer. The Hoffner Folding
Knife provides less lethal tool options to the officer as well as lethal force capability. These options will be practiced while
officers learn to effectively defend self against a CQB deadly force attack.
Student Requirements: Duty pistol, 3 magazines, standard duty gear, ear and eye protection, 250 rounds ammunition, Hoffner
Training Knives are provided for use during the class, bring eye and groin protection if available. Optional: Training Blue or Red gun.
