Call the Regular Meeting to order: The Penticton Creek Restoration Select Committee was called to order by Committee Chair Bryn White at 9:04 a.m. 2. Introduction of Late Items: Nil 3. Approval of Agenda: It was MOVED and SECONDED THAT the Penticton Creek Restoration Select Committee approve the agenda dated July 25th, 2014. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 4. Approval of Minutes: It was MOVED and SECONDED 5. THAT the Penticton Creek Restoration Select Committee approve the minutes dated June 27th, 2014. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY Business Arising from Prior Meetings: 5.1 Introduction of Project Coordinator Steve Matthews has been engaged by the City of Penticton as the Project Coordinator for this project. Mr. Matthews provided information on his expertise in restoration projects and his specific duties as the Project Coordinator. Funding opportunities was a topic of conversation; along with HCTF grants a number of new grants have come forward and will be applied for. ONA provided information that they have access to a large majority of grants and will provide them to this committee. Planning and design is on-going. 5.2 Update from Stantec Stantec provided a progress report with a power point presentation which included the following areas for discussion: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 200 year flow Channel Capacity Bridges Conclusion Concept Designs A cost summary was also presented and this was followed with a roundtable question and answer period followed. 5.3 Recreation Fishery Conservation Partnership An opportunity to re-apply for a DFO grant has arisen; all members agreed to move forward with this process. Different funding sources were discussed. A spreadsheet on funding opportunities will be complied; Camille from ONA has a chart on all funding opportunities and will be forwarding this to the Committee Chair. It was agreed by all that a technical sub-committee be formed with the following individuals: - Bryn White - Joe Enns - Audrey Tanguay - Bruce McFarlane - Steve Matthews - Engineering & Public Works Representatives A report will be going to Council with the background design options prior to going public. 6. Next Meeting: The next meeting of the Penticton Creek Restoration Select Committee is scheduled for Friday, August 22 nd, 2014 @ 9:00 a.m. in Committee Room A. 7.
