(2) Connect the adapter to the other devices in the following order: q Position the back side A of the adapter over the scope light guide prong, and turn the fixing screw clockwise to lock it into place. (Fig.1) Fig. 1 Turn 90˚ clockwise Olympus water container (3) Ensure that air and water feeding functions satisfactorily as per the instructions supplied with the scope. 3. Care after Use (1) Immediately after use, detach the adapter from the each device. locking screw If the adapter is heavily soiled, wipe all surface areas using cleaning brushes and/or a soft gauze moistened with detergent solution and then ultrasonically clean. Ultrasonic cleaning is then recommended using the parameters below. Frequency Range : 44 KHz+/-6% Time : 5 minutes (3) Remove both OS-A60 and the adapter from the detergent solution and then reattach the OS-A60 to the adapter. Flush air to purge residual solution from the adapter, the fluid will exit through the openings of portions B and D. (4) Clean water should then be used to rinse residual detergent from external and internal surfaces. To rinse residual detergent inside the adapter, Flush clean water into it by using the OS-A60. The fluid will exit through the openings of portions B and D. (5) After thoroughly rinsing, gently dry all external surfaces of both the adapter and the OS-A60 with a soft gauze. To facilitate drying within the adapter, flush 70% alcohol followed by compressed air into the adapter. Fixing screw (2) For the reprocessing of the scope, refer to the instructions supplied with the endoscope. Light guide 3. 1 Manual Cleaning (1) Immediately after use, the entire adapter should be cleaned using an enzymatic detergent with a soft gauze and/or effective cleaning brushes. NOTE To ensure contact of solution with all surfaces within the adapter, during flushing with a syringe, be careful not to disconnect the cleaning adapter. Caution Failure to thoroughly rinse and dry all surface areas NOTE Do not detach the tubing from the adapter. could result in incomplete or ineffective disinfection or sterilization. PENTAX fiberscope (V, W series) w Connect the front side B of the adapter to the scope socket of the light source. e Connect portion C, air/water adapter, to the scope air/water connector on the LG plug in a straight-on position, then turn the locking screw on portion C clockwise for a secure attachment. Directions for Use those of cleaning described above, except a disinfecting solution is applied instead of a detergent. e For flushing, rinsing and drying, the OS-A60 and a syringe should be used. After disinfection the adapter should be rinsed with sterile water. A final alcohol rinse followed by forced air drying is recommended. (2) While fully immersed, attach the provided cleaning adapter (OS-A60) to the A/W connector, portion C and turn the locking screw counterclockwise to connect securely. Next, attach the syringe filled with detergent solution to the OSA60 and then flush the solution into the adapter while avoiding introduction of any air bubbles (Fig.4). Keep injecting detergent solution until no air bubbles exit from the opening of portions B and D. Detach OS-A60 from 3. 2 Disinfection and Sterilization Before any attempt is made to disinfect and/or sterilize the adapter, appropriate cleaning and thorough drying must have been completed. (1) Chemical disinfection q Use the same compatible disinfectant as recommended for Pentax endoscopes. w Procedures for chemical disinfection are the same as (2) ETO Gas sterilization Follow the same ETO parameters as for PENTAX endoscopes.
