Actuators Introduction Actuators provide the muscle needed to operate a valve against the pressures exerted by flow. They take many forms: manual, spring-anddiaphragm, piston, motor. They operate using several mediums: air, hydraulics, electricity, and manual power. They come in a selection of sizes to meet application needs, from relatively low-pressure, tank-fill service to extremely high-pressure plastics production. Fisher offers a wide range of control valve actuators for both sliding-stem style valves and rotary valve designs. They utilize such accessories as limit switches, positioners, and digital valve controllers.
