Charlotte Music School is proud to announce our Winter Recital! We look forward to hearing wonderful performances given by our students that demonstrate
their hard work and talents! Separate recitals lasting no longer than one-hour each will be presented in the
beautiful Tate Recital Hall on the campus of Central Piedmont Community College. This is a TRUE professional performance hall, but the atmosphere will be welcoming, encouraging and fun! There is convenient
FREE Parking in the deck located just behind the arts center. We are very excited to see and hear everyone!
We will also be collecting food for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina on our recital day. Please
bring non-perishable food items to be donated directly to this worthy cause (optional). More information on
what they need the most is available at the front desk.

OPTION #1: SEMESTER PLUS SUMMER MUSIC CAMP PLAN

Pay the least per month with this great new plan! Enroll for the semester (January 1-May 31) at $25.50 per lesson
AND enroll for a Fun, Summer Music Camp! The dates and camps will be announced very soon. Each week-long
camp will start at $75. (You are charged the summer music camp fee during the month of the camp you choose.
Choose the camp by the end of April.) With this pricing plan, you are committing to take lessons for the semester
(January - May) AND participate in a summer music camp. You still have the convenience of monthly payments but at a reduced rate than our month-to month plan and semester only plan. 30 days withdrawal notice still
applies at the end of the semester.
OPTION #2: SEMESTER ENROLLMENT PLAN
Enroll for the semester (January 1- May 31) at $27.50 per lesson. With this pricing plan, you are committing to
take lessons for the semester listed. You still have the convenience of monthly payments but at a reduced rate
than our month-to month plan. 30 days withdrawal notice still applies at the end of the semester.
OPTION #3: MONTH-TO-MONTH PLAN
This is our current pricing plan of $29.50 per lesson. If you do not wish to change to a semester plan then your
monthly rate will not be affected. 30 days withdrawal notice still applies.
You never pay for a holiday or for days when the school is closed. Our monthly rates take into consideration these

CMS to Upgrade to a New State of the Art
Music Technology Program (at no extra charge!)
Charlotte Music will be the first musical organization in NC to offer a
comprehensive state of the art online musical software for its students,
parents and teachers. Beginning January 1, 2015, CMS will provide
its students with access through our website to cutting edge technology
that contains programs that assist in developing skills in Music Theory, Aural Skills and Composition. This
program will completely upgrade our current system and allow students the convenience of working at
home, as many times per week as they want! CMS Teachers will also be able to have students record musical selections, create musical loops and take musical quizzes in and between lessons! The programs are easy to
learn, fun to do and safe.
Parents are encouraged to take part in their children’s musical activities. CMS will be offering training sessions for both students and parents throughout the month of January. Please feel free to join your student
in the computer lab area after lesson times to see what great programs we will be offering.

Our goal for our pre-k group is to teach music and music concepts so all students are best prepared for private
music lessons. Students learn about the fundamental elements of experiencing music in a fun and positive way.
The group is kept to a maximum of twelve students to insure that all students get individualized attention. The
students in our pre - k group will be given the opportunity to prepare a short song to perform at the Spring recital in May.
As an added bonus for parents there are no extra expense with this
class - all instruments and materials are provided.

MEET OUR INSTRUCTOR: RAGAVAN LUTCHMIDAT
Raised in New York City, Ragavan was influenced by music at early age but only began playing the tabla
when he was 12 years old. Under the guidance of Shree Kinnar Kumar Seen and world renowned tabla composer Pandit Divyang Vakil. What started out as a mere hobby quickly became a passion. Ragavan soon became highly involved in his local community music scene playing at various churches, weddings, and concerts; most notably a sold out arena at NYC Symphony Space. His recent move to the greater Charlotte area
has afforded him the opportunity to both play at the Knight’s Theater, Belk Theater, along with other various venues, and to connect with the burgeoning South Asian population of Charlotte.
WHAT RAGAVAN LIKES ABOUT TEACHING MUSIC: “I like the challenge that teaching imposes. Students are here because they have a desire to be here, because they have a desire to learn and it is up to me to
keep that interest alive, to keep them focus on their craft and I take that role very seriously.”
