HYDROLYSED NUTRIPREM MARCH 2014 HYDROLYSED NUTRIPREM Pack size: Cow & Gate hydrolysed nutriprem is available to hospitals only as a sterilised, ready-to-feed milk in a 90ml plastic bottle. Ingredients: Indications: Cow & Gate hydrolysed nutriprem is a food for special medical purposes, for the dietary management of preterm and low birthweight infants who require hydrolysed protein. Hydrolysed nutriprem contains hydrolysed protein which may be helpful for preterm infants post surgery or who are not tolerating standard preterm formulas. Hydrolysed nutriprem preterm formula has been specially developed and formulated in line with the latest ESPGHAN 2010 recommendations for infants weighing 1-1.8kg1. It contains long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (AA & DHA) in amounts recommended by experts1, nucleotides, vitamins and minerals to meet the requirements of growing preterm infants, which should reduce the need for additional nutrient supplementation1. Contra-indications: Cow & Gate hydrolysed nutriprem should only be used under the close medical supervision of a neonatologist or dietitian. The levels of most vitamins and minerals in Cow & Gate hydrolysed nutriprem are higher than in infant milks and additional supplements are not usually necessary. This product is not suitable for intravenous use. Instructions for use: 1 Cow & Gate hydrolysed nutriprem can be fed to the infant at a rate of between 150–200ml/kg/day, until the infant reaches 1800–2000g. 2 Cow & Gate hydrolysed nutriprem can be used to complement breastmilk, i.e. given as alternate feeds with breastfeeds, or prior to the availability of breastmilk. 3 The hydrolysed nature of this product means the contents will settle, so the bottle needs to be shaken well before use.
