Establish the HPVL Lab Access “Webtop”
a. Click on the “Access” icon to launch the web-based Terminal Services Desktop, or “Webtop”.
b. The “F5 Application Access” Webtop window will appear, in which a browser window will automatically display
your assigned HPVL Lab Group or xRDP login page. All lab activities (telnet, RDP access, web management of
lab devices) will take place within the “F5 Application Access” Webtop.
c. When the Windows RDP Webtop is used for the first time, it will automatically install the ActiveX networking component
on your PC.
d. The first time you connect, you must click YES to accept the networking components of the F5 Access client
software (approx. 1 MByte total).
Note:
Local admin privileges are required to install the software. Non-privileged users then can use the TS Webtop, too.
If your login has no administrator rights, you will encounter an error message like this one: “Sorry, ActiveX control
is required to view this page”
6) You are successfully connected once you see the “F5 Application Access” Webtop window (20-60 seconds) with either
a Windows RDP login page, an xrdp login page, or your course-specific Lab Group selection inside of an IE browser on
your Webtop. Your Webtop will look like one of those shown below.

this, click on the “minimize” button on the browser in your
Webtop:
You may now resize and move
the browser within the Webtop:
