Product Data Sheet
DAROL™ Photopolymer
POLYGRAMA DAROL HOTOPOLYMER is a dry film
for holography which is
provided in with
adequate resolution, high contrast and low
scatter. It is designed for use with BLUE-GREEN
lasers and RED ones. It is a low cost material
designed for substitute the traditional Silver
Halide process. It works as recording a visible
reflection hologram that is further thermally
developed in a single process to deliver a
reflection hologram with indeed very similar
properties to Dichromated gelatine process
(DCG). The perfect choice for mass production
security copies at high quality, with same
brilliance as one DCG hologram and
totally
moisture resistant and stable.

Darol films will be available as rolls and
sheets.
6 - 10 µm thick photopolymer onto optical
clear polyester with laminated thin PET
cover.
White light post processing forming a
permanent latent image.
Processing with simple post heat for a
narrow-band bright hologram result.
Exceptional environmental stability.
Optical dye density: < 0.20 (before
bleaching).
Bleaching totally clear during (recording)
and after post exposure.
Planned characteristics
-Wax release and hot melt adhesive internal
coatings for hot-foil blocking processing(Credit
cards)
-Roll embossing on papers or synthetic materials
with adhesives.
Delivery form : liquid solution or coated
films.
Holographic performance
Color sensitivity:
476-532 nm, Green sensitive
635-670 nm, Red sensitive
Sensitivity: 1 – 10 mJ/cm² (Range)
Δn ≤ 0.08 on thermal developed reflection
holograms
Diffraction efficiency > 90% after thermal
processing
Mode of use
Remove the polyester film cover from the film
base emulsion and laminate the emulsion side
with a rubber roll or a laminator onto glass to
fixate the film. The emulsion will be protected
from air and stable for exposure.
Exposure
Exposure latitude ranges from 1 to 10 mJ/cm²,
optimum results will depend on the laser being
used and whether a transmission or reflection
hologram is made. Darol Photopolymer is
optimized with a high quality optical absorbing
dye density that bleaches under exposure and is
appropriate to generation of reflection H2 and
contact copies, also Denisyuk setup is possible.

Product Data Sheet
DAROL™ Photopolymer
Processing
After hologram recording, fixing of this latent
image is carried out by white light exposure:
(100mW/cm² @ 400 - 700 nm) for 05 - 10 min.
Remove the film from the glass support and apply
the thermal development onto the visible latent
image:
Any heat source for a few seconds may work,
preferably apply a hot air heating from a heat gun
(1200°F[648°C]) distant 30 cm on the emulsion
surface until a bright image appear, at the point
without much scattering appear, similar to DCG
process. The scratch resistant emulsion is stable
upon ambient humidity but sensitive to solvents.
Index matching
Use liquid perfluoroalkylether as index matching
with emulsion contact. It will not affect the
emulsion.
Storage
Shelf life: One year minimum at 20°C and
relative humidity 30-50%.
