COURSE VENUE
COURSE OUTLINE AND
OBJECTIVES
This course complements the 1.5 day Paper D
courses in December 2014 by providing an
introduction to Papers DI and DII.
The morning will focus on Paper DI and the
afternoon on Paper DII.
This will enable the December courses to
provide greater in depth coverage to Paper
DII, where the greatest challenges lie.
The course will cover:
•
key points of law;
•
a structured approach to the DI and
DII papers;
•
a guide to what to read and questions
to do before the second part of the
course in January; and
•
exam technique, including time
management and how best to answer
questions.
MATERIALS TO BRING
Writing pens, paper and reference materials
(the PCT, EPC and Guidelines).
TIMINGS
The course will start at 9.30am on Friday 14th
November and end at 5.30pm. Please aim to
arrive at the training venue by 9am.
Tea/coffee breaks will be taken in the
morning at around 11am and 3pm and will be
taken between 1-2pm.
The course is being held at the Kents Hill Park
Training and Conference Centre in Milton
Keynes.

THE COURSE TUTORS
The training centre is 4 miles from Central
Milton Keynes Railway Station and 2 miles
from junctions 13 and 14 of the M1.
Matt Holmes: Matt is a European and
Chartered British patent attorney, and is Chief
Patent Counsel for Jaguar Land Rover. He
was formerly European Patents Manager at
Nissan Technical Centre Europe.

Dr Mark Yeadon: Mark is a European and
Chartered British patent attorney, with a
background in electronic, mechanical and
materials engineering. After qualifying with a
national firm of patent and trade mark
attorneys, he established Yeadon IP in 2010.
