power (W) and the return loss (dB) at the output of the
system
System Control Unit
The System Control Unit (SCU) is used in Reserve Systems
to monitor and control the entire system.
Exciter
In single drive systems, the Digital Audio Exciter (DAE) and
Digital Video Exciter (DVE) are responsible for controlling
and monitoring the system. In Reserve Systems, the
Exciter informs the System Control Unit about the relevant
operating parameters of the system.
RF Power Amplifier Unit
Our liquid cooled and air cooled RF Power Amplifier Units
(PAU) are available in UHF Band IV/V and VHF Band III.
Depending on the required output power, several power
amplifier units can be connected in parallel using a 3 dB
coupler
The status of the PAU is displayed by three LEDs on the
front panel. These displays allow the user to recognize
problems at a glance.
The design of the PAU makes it easy to replace power
amplifier modules. All PAUs use the same phase and gain
making it possible for replacement without subsequent
alignment.
COMPONENTS FOR LOW POWER
Basic components for Compact Systems:
Low Power Transmitter / Transposer
For low power up to 300 W, we offer a compact solution
which can be integrated into in a 19" rack.
For the future roll-out of the DVB Network or to cover
difficult areas with a digital signal, additional Gap Fillers or
transposers are essential.
We can also offer the following solutions:
• Gap Filler with Echo Canceller:
suitable for traditional Multi Frequency Networks (MFN)
as well as Single Frequency Networks (SFN)
• Re-Modulator:
to fulfill the highest demands on signal quality

With an integrated web server,
users simply require a computer
with a web browser, such as
Microsoft Internet Explorer or
Mozilla Firefox.
The “Web Control Panel” provides a
standardized user Interface for local
and remote operation. In local mode,
the system can be operated using
the optionally operating control unit
or on an external computer. In
remote mode, only an external
computer can be used.
Operating Control Unit (option)
The Operating Control Unit (OCU) allows for
complete control of your system with the
convenience of being housed within the transmitter
rack. Quickly access the OCU through a pull-out
drawer to operate your system. The OCU comes in
standard laptop size configurations and maintains
easy viewing while taking up minimal space in the
transmitter rack.
COOLING SYSTEMS
Liquid Cooling Unit
The Liquid Cooling Unit (LCU) is a closed-circuit cooling system in use for all liquid-cooled systems of transmitters and
transposers.
The LCU includes two redundant pumps operated in alternating mode to ensure max. availability. This practically rules out
system shutdown due to pumps failure.
The LCU also allows for several protective measures; such as pressure monitoring, over or low pressure protection, and
expansion tank ensuring reliable operation.
Air Cooling
The Air Cooling System is used for digital systems with an output power of up to 2 kW and for analog systems with an output
power of up to 4.3 kW.
In standard configuration, two redundant speed control fans are integrated within the rack. Exhaust is emitted through the
system roof, from where it can be conducted outside. Different air ducting configurations are available.
To increase power efficiency, fan rotation speed is regulated according to the temperature of the power amplifier. In case of
fan failure, the speed of the second fan increases to manage the entire cooling process.
A corresponding warning will be displayed.
BROADCAST EQUIPMENT
Precision GPS Clock with redundancy system
The Precision GPS Clock (PGC) is by far the most compact
professional redundant GPS clock on the market and the
perfect complement to the Plisch transmitter product line.
It combines a full-featured, high quality reference clock in
only one height unit.
The PGC is built according to the highest reliability aspects
with a back-up antenna, cable, GPS receiver, oscillator,
power supply module and supply line. The modules are
easily interchanged from the front panel.
The rear side of the clock provides eight outputs with
10 MHz and eight outputs with 1 PPS. If more outputs are
needed, the PGC can be extended by a fully monitored
external distribution unit.
The PGC is easily configured remotely via HTTP/SNMP and
software can be upgraded via the Ethernet interface
without interruption of the reference signals.
Monitoring Receiver for DVB-T/T2
The Monitoring Receiver (MON) is a high sensitivity
receiver for measuring and monitoring signal quality,
modulation parameters of DVB-T/T2 signals, and
demodulation. The MON receives RF signals in both VHF
and UHF bandwidths of 5, 6, 7 and 8 MHz and provides a
demodulated ASI signal.
The MON offers easy device setup and readout of
measurement data available by an integrated web server
using a standard web browser or SNMP. The SNMP
feature allows easy integration into network management
and monitoring systems. Several parameters can be
selected for monitoring against user-definable limits and
raising an alarm if a limit is exceeded.
Plisch offers the MON as a standalone model or integrated
into Plisch DVB-T/T2 Exciters.
Transport Stream Switch
The Transport Stream Switch (TSS) is a device for signal
distribution of a digital transmitter with ASI feed.
The TSS includes a switching matrix that can conduct
2x eight ASI signals independently on two different
outputs. Each input signal can be switched individually to
an output port.
The switching status and power supply status are located
on the front panel as LED indicators. The ASI inputs and
outputs are located at the back.
For checking the setting of the switching matrix with a
monitoring decoder, there are two additional test outputs
available located on the front panel.
Dual Drive Reserve
The Dual Drive System is comprised of two Exciters and a
final stage, which are monitored and controlled by the
MORE ABOUT OUR RESERVE SYSTEMS
System Control Unit (SCU).
The Exciter sends the relevant operating data of the
system to the SCU. The SCU monitors all important
operating parameters of the system and, if necessary,
automatically directs the switch-over of the exciter.
Passive Reserve
Exciter A
The Passive Reserve System is comprised of two single
transmitters (A and B), each with a final stage, which are
monitored and controlled by the System Control Unit
(SCU). Transmitter A operates while Transmitter B remains
in stand-by mode.
Transmitter A sends the relevant operating data of the
system to the SCU. The SCU monitors all important
operating parameters of the transmitters and, if necessary,
automatically directs the switch-over to Transmitter B.

Active Reserve System with 3dB
release
The Active Reserve System with 3dB release is comprised
of two single transmitters, which are monitored and
controlled by the System Control Unit (SCU). A 3dB
coupler is used to add the output power of the two
separate transmitters.
The exciter provides the relevant operating data of the
system to the SCU. The SCU monitors all important
operating parameters of the single transmitters and, if
necessary, automatically initiates the release of the
malfunctioning transmitter. The intact transmitter is
connected directly to the antenna and the malfunctioning
transmitter is connected to a dummy load. This is an RF
power loss of only 3 dB (one transmitter in normal
operation).

N+1 reserve (N= up to 8)
An N+1 Reserve System is comprised of up to eight single
transmitters in operation (A) and a reserve transmitter (B),
which can replace any operational transmitter at any time.
The system is monitored and controlled by the System
Control Unit (SCU) in combination with the external SIF
System Interface.
The integrated Exciter informs the SCU of the system's
operating parameters. This unit monitors all the single
drives' major operating parameters and, if necessary,
automatically

from
the
malfunctioning transmitter to the reserve transmitter.
The reserve transmitter's Exciter receives the necessary
input signals from the transport stream switch or IP switch,
which are also controlled by the SCU. Two-way RF
switches on the transmitter output connect the reserve
transmitter to the aerial via the appropriate output filter.
The malfunctioning transmitter is connected to a dummy
