DPM fall retreat 2014--2

 Our Speaker: Pastor Tom
Little Tom Jackson was born in 1961 in
Chicago, Illinois and he grew up on the
south side of Chicago in Englewood. He
surrendered his life to Jesus at a young
age and began serving Him.
In 1989, Tom had a life-changing
encounter with God. He rededicated his
life to the Lord and began working in the
Chicago Public Schools teaching
teachers how to incorporate the arts into
their reading programs.
Tom has served teachers and students
for twenty-five years teaching in the
Chicago Public Schools. He currently
trains about teachers during the summer
months then follows those teachers
throughout the school year as mentor,
coach, and classroom partner.
In 2002, God directed Tom to return to
school to learn America Sign Language.
He has no Deaf relatives, but it was
God’s plan that he goes to school and
learns about Deaf culture and signing.
So, he got involved in a Deaf ministry in
Oak Brook, and poured himself into that
church, working as unto the Lord.
In 2011, Tom inherited that very same
Deaf church and is now its Senior
Pastor. He attended the Living Word
School of Ministry, as directed by God,
and is currently utilizing the acquired
knowledge to hone the gifts and talents
he has to ministry to the Deaf.
Tom and his wife, Jenna Ford Jackson
reside in the LaGrange area with their
two incredibly talented children,
Brandon, age 14 and Lauren, age 10.
