Hair Salon that only does hair and nails – I hand out color samples
and have a drawing for a hair salon certificate when I work with hair
salons. From the drawing, I can generate leads from women that
filled out the registration forms.
Coffee Shops/Cafés – at Panera Bread’s café, I will meet with my
consultants and train them about the virtual makeover using a lap
top. This is so they can learn how to book ladies using the Virtual
Makeover tool. While showing the tool at Panera, I notice that it
spikes interest among the employees and customers. I will also have
my on-the-go tote sitting on the table. Panera is a great
place to warm chatter with women who are getting off work and
coming in to pick up dinner between the hours of 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
Warm Chatter – is still my favorite way to get names now because it
does give me an opportunity to personally select women to talk to
and it also helps me to work to build a repoire with her. I say, “Hi –
may I talk with you for a few minute? My name is Jeannie Smith –
may I give you my card – I am a director with Mary Kay. I couldn’t
help notice how nice you look, etc. - are you familiar with Mary Kay –
I’d love to get your opinion of the all new Mary Kay skin care and
color ….. Etc…….” This is pretty straight forward and it works!
WHAT MAKES A HOSTESS PROGRAM
INCREDIBLE! By NSD Dorothy Boyd
1) It excites YOU.
You would host a party for it if you were still a
customer, so there is lots of energy in your voice when
you sell the benefits of it...Your enthusiasm is the
critical inch!
2) Your customer completely understands it.
Either it's so simple that anyone can understand it in
one sentence OR you give her a fun, pretty flyer that
she's compelled to scrutinize to "get it". We have
several Hostess Plans to choose from, so find one that
meets the two essential criteria above. No need to
obsess over it, ladies. Pick one & run. They all work
when you do!
Last 2 thoughts:
I have found that we communicate to the masses, but
move people one-on-one. I share the benefits of my
hostess plan at the table with everyone, but I still have
to ask each person at the individual close to get 2 bookings or more from each class. If you are waiting for
women to volunteer to be
hostesses, you will miss about 90% of your bookings.
Don't be a chicken. Be a Booking Superstar! NOW is
the time to take advantage of that upside & get strong
on the essential skills of booking classes from your
classes, then coaching them as well!

If you want to build a Team, you must ask without fear!
What do you have to lose really? Get out of yourself and
into others!
Always facial your prospective Team Member before you give her career information.
She cannot become a Consultant if she isn’t sold on the product.
Have you prequalified your prospective Team Member in your mind before
approaching her? Prequalifying means:
a. She likes the product
b. She has a need
c. Has $100.00
When you approach someone about our career, she will immediately give you an
objection. Expect one, if not several. Whatever you do, don’t try to overcome the
objection on the spot. Your prospect will feel pushed if you do. Remember…
your job at this point is to sell her on getting the information, not to recruit
her on the spot.
Only give career information when you are in a position to give her ALL of the facts
because you must “close” the interview or there is no point in holding it. You
would never give someone a facial without giving them a chance to try the product,
would you?

The minimum “active” status order amount has
been increased from $200 to $225 in
wholesale Section 1 orders effective March 1,
2014. This allows Beauty Consultants to achieve
and maintain “active” status, and qualify for the
Earned Discount Privilege for the month in which
the order is placed, and in the two calendar
months that follow.

booking calls in one month! Your goal is to see how many “NO’s” that you
can get. Some of the NOs may end up turning into a MAYBE. Some of the
NOs may end up turning into “YES’S!”
If you are too scared to pick up the phone, it is time to overcome the fear
and reach up and out. Fear holds you back and keeps you from
accomplishing the things that you want in life. It has been said that the
things that you are scared to do, are exactly what you SHOULD be doing.
For instance, if you have relatives that live across the country, but you can’t
see them because of your fear of flying. Maybe the key lies in
OVERCOMING the fear, so you can FLY and see your relatives and enjoy
spending time with them. It’s the same thing in
your business. Fear not, make the calls and go
all out! Make some money, honey!
