NURSING ASSISTANT COURSE In order to improve the avenues for Health related jobs for the people of Palakkad District a Para Medical Health Sciences Division namely “ Mahathma Gandhi College of Health Sciences under the Mahathma Gandhi Educational Society was commenced in the academic year 2014-15 offering courses in 1. Diploma In Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) 2. Diploma In Radiology Technology (DRT) 3. Nursing Assistant Course The admission process, for the above courses, for the year 2014-15, are in process. Diploma In Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT), and Diploma In Radiology Technology (DRT), are recognized by the Government of Kerala and conducted under the guidance of the Directorate of Medical Education. Qualification – DMLT & DRT COURSES A pass in the plus two (+2) examination of Kerala or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate for admission under General Category. SC / ST Applicants need to secure 35% marks NURSING ASSISTANT COURSE A Pass in S.S.L.C. Examination or C.B.S.E b. Age - Should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31/12/2014. Upper age limit is 35 years. c. Physical fitness – Applicants should produce medical fitness certificate at the time of admission. III. Selection a. Selection will be based on merit of the qualifying examination. b. Only applicants who satisfy the eligibility criteria will be called for interview. IV. Application Application form will be available at the office of the College from 01/09/2014 onwards and the cost of application is Rs.400. Application can be downloaded from our website ‘www.cooperativehospitalpkd.com’ and submitted along with a Demand Draft for Rs.400 drawn in favour of the Mahathma Gandhi Educational Society’ payable at Canara Bank, Kallekkad Branch. V. How to apply 1. Applicants shall submit, along with their application, copies of the following. a. Relevant page of the S.S.L.C book to prove the date of birth. b. Mark list of +2 or equivalent examination. 2. Separate application should be submitted for each course. 4 3. Filled in applications along with stamped, self-addressed envelope should be forwarded to the Director, Mahathma Gandhi College of Health Sciences, Rajiv Gandhi Co-operative Hospital Complex, Kallekkad, Kodunthirappully, (Post), Palakkad 678004. VI. Applications completed with all details and relevant documents only will be considered. 1ncomplete application without necessary documents will be summarily rejected without any reference to the applicants. Application received after the due date will not be considered. VII. Subsequent to admission, on scrutiny, if any information furnished by the applicant in the application is found to be false his / her admission granted on the basis of such information is liable to be cancelled automatically. VIII. Fee Structure Courses DMLT and DRT will be conducted on fees as prescribed by the government of Kerala. Fees for Nursing Assistant Course will be decided by the institution. IX. Admission. a. Selected applicants will be required to complete the admission formalities within the specified date. b. They should pay the required fees at the time of admission and attend classes as per the instructions of the Course Director, Mahathma Gandhi College of Health Sciences. X. Uniform Churidar / Pant and shirt are accepted uniforms. [White coat and covered foot wear (Bath room chappal / slipper not allowed) compulsory in Laboratory] 5 XI. Duration of the Courses 1. Diploma In Medical Laboratory Technology – DMLT – 2 years 2. Diploma In Radiology Technology – DRT – 2 Years 3. Nursing Assistant Course – 2 Years XII. Examination Seasonal examination will be conducted after each semester by the internal examiners. Final examination will be on completion of the course in which both internal and external examiners will assess the students. Examination for DMLT and DRT Courses will be conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education for Government of Kerala and for Nursing Assistant Course by the institution. XIII. Award of Certificates The successful Students will be awarded certificates. XIV. Conduct and discipline a. Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner fitting to their position as Mahathma Gandhi College of Health Sciences and conduct themselves with dignity, discipline and decorum. b. Students should be courteous and polite. They should respect their elders and teachers. c. Permission should be taken from the teachers, before entering or leaving the class while in session. d. Smoking and drinking of alcohol or taking drugs are strictly prohibited in the campus. e. Students shall not participate any organization activity directed against authority and shall not do anything against the interest of harmony and good fellowship in the campus. f. Mobile phones will not be used / brought in class room / laboratory. 6 XV. Before admission to the college, the selected candidates should submit a declaration duly signed by him / her and attested by his / her parent or guardian that they will follow the rules of the Mahathma Gandhi College of Health Sciences. XVI. Judicial body Without prejudice to the directions of the appropriate authorities, the Governing council of the Mahathma Gandhi Educational Society, Rajiv Gandhi Co-operative Hospital Complex,Palakkad has absolute power to decide on all matters and its decision shall be final. The High Court of Kerala will be the only judicial body to decide on the dispute arising, if any, regarding any admission to any of these courses. DIRECTOR 7
